After 12 years of heartbreak, the legendary players of Team India signed off the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in style! On March 9, 2025, the Dubai International Stadium erupted in joy with crowds chanting ‘India’ as Ravindra Jadeja smashed the winning boundary, beating New Zealand by four wickets. The final showdown of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 was between India and New Zealand. After a series of stellar performances throughout the tournament, India signed off with a win after 12 long years, taking home the winner’s trophy. The last ICC Champions Trophy was won by India back in 2013 when it defeated England.
Amid the glory of tonight’s win, the sight of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli dancing felt both heartwarming and bittersweet. Both players had already hinted at winding down their white-ball careers, and thus, this could well be their ICC Champions Trophy. Whether or not it was their last dance on the grand stage, they made sure it was unforgettable.
