Robin Hood has won over the fans with its new adaptation, and they can be called officially hooked as they navigate the series. However, it's only been two episodes, and the cliffhanger already seems to be getting the viewers pulling their hair out. The first two episodes of Robin Hood have dropped on MGM+ at the same time, and the fans are already reeling from a shockingly brutal death.
'Rob' essayed by Jack Patten absconds into Sherwood Forest after locking horns with the 'Earl of Huntingdon' (Steve Waddington). The latter also happened to be the person responsible for the demise of 'Rob's' father. 'Rob' sneaks through to meet the 'Sheriff of Nottingham's' (Sean Bean) head of guards. However, there he is presented with an ultimatum. If he can hit a target of the guard's choosing with his bow and arrow, he walks away without any harm. But! If he misses, 'Rob's' trademark weapons would be theirs.

'Rob' agrees with the selection of a nearby target. And, of course, he hits it on the first try. However, immediately, the guards change their tune, claiming 'Rob' has killed one of the King's deer without permission and will be punished by them for committing such a sin. A fight breaks out, resulting in a fleeing 'Rob' shooting the chief guard in the chest, killing him instantly. The power dynamics between 'Rob', the Earl, and Sheriff and Priscilla are now in jeopardy, completely changing the tone of the show.

During a conversation with the series creator, Jonathan English, he reveals that Robin Hood Episode 2 is his "favorite" cliffhanger. He further reveals why they're all so effective in the Amazon show. He shared that the shocking endings are presented in a way that draws the audience back to the show with every episode. He was quoted as saying:
"They're all designed to bring you back, but they're designed in such a way that they're an organic part of the narrative. I mean, they're not just cheap writer tricks. Each cliffhanger is about advancing Rob's character and what we know about Robin Hood. You know, that's the thing. That's how he becomes the Outlaw, that's how that name is acquired. As you move through the series, it's really building the mythology. As we get to the latter part of the season, we get a fully formed version of Robin Hood and really understand how he got there."

It seems that the show's creators have a deep love for cliffhangers. They have beautifully executed the tactics, keeping the audience hooked from the very first episode. They are reinventing the Robin Hood origin story, giving viewers a fully realised young man with many problems. He's relatable, almost one of us. Everything that happens to him is something thrust upon him rather than sought out. However, it seems like they have more cliffhangers in store. Talking to the other half of the duo, John Glenn, he stated:
