Robert Redford Dies At The Age Of 89, Oscar-Winning Actor-Director Death REASON Revealed

The famous Hollywood actor-director, Robert Redford, passed away at the age of 89. It is an extreme moment of sadness for his family and friends. The Oscar-winning director is known as the godfather of independent cinema. He rose to immense stardom in the 1960s with some of the most famous films, including The Candidate, All the President's Men, and The Way We Were.

On September 16, 2025, Robert Redfort passed away at the age of 89. He died at his home at Sundance in the mountains of Utah. It was the place which is extremely closed in the hearts of those he loved, his publicist, Cindi Berger confirmed the same with a statement. However, the reason for his death is not yet known, except that he passed away during his sleep. The statement can be read as:

"Robert Redford passed away on September 16, 2025, at his home at Sundance in the mountains of Utah–the place he loved, surrounded by those he loved. He will be missed greatly. The family requests privacy.”

His roles in films such as The Sting, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and Out of Africa are still loved by people across the world. While it is true that he has not won an Oscar for his acting, he won his first Oscar as the Best Director for Ordinary People in the year 1981. It was during his stardom in the 1960s and '70s that Redford rose to fame as a global icon. They had four children, Scott , Shauna, James and Amy Redfor. However, their elder son, Scott, passed away at the age of 2 months. His other child, James, passed away in 2020 due to cancer. The couple was married for more than 25 years, before divorcing in 1985. In 2009, Robert gave love another chance and married to German Artist and longtime partner, Sibylle Szaggars. They do not have any children together.
