In 2022, the biggest Tollywood movie of the year was released, which gathered love from the audience at a global level. Apart from the mesmerising plot and catchy songs in SS Rajamouli’s directorial RRR, the friendship of 'Alluri Sitarama Raju', played by Ram Charan, and 'Komaram Bheem', played by Jr. NTR, became the trending topic. However, this on-screen friends duo might have a sense of competition between them in real life.
South film industry actors, Ram Charan and Jr. NTR have known each other for a long time as their families are arch-rival of each other. This three-decade-long rivalry was the talk of the town some time back when in an interview, Ram Charan hinted at the healthy competition between the two actors. Have a look back at the time when Ram Charan discussed his co-actor and their families’ rivalry.
During his 2023 interview, the actor shared his opinion when asked whether SS Rajamouli intended to portray the rivalry between Ram Charan and Jr. NTR in the film. To this, the actor didn’t have any objection and said it would not have been wrong if the director portrayed their rivalries on-screen. However, he further added:
“But Mr. Rajamouli also wanted to share our very real bond off-screen during the scenes where we’re not rivals.”
He also voiced his thoughts that there was always some sense of competition between the two actors but this feeling had zero effect in their professional world.
For those unaware, Jr. NTR comes from a family of politicians. He is the son of Nandamuri Harikrishna, who is both an actor and a politician, and grandson to NT Rama Rao, the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. On the other side, Ram Charan is the son of the popular actor, Chiranjeevi, and comes from a family of actors. Having said this, he threw light on the incident which shaped the path to friendship. The ice broke between the two actors when they were practicing together for a celebrity cricket match in Hyderabad.
