Rihanna's Home Shooter Was In A Psychiatric Facility, Lost Child's Custody, 'Does Bizarre Things'

A shocking incident left the entire music industry in shock when, on March 8, 2026, it was reported that an individual opened fire at Rihanna's home in Beverly Hills, California. It was also reported that the singer, Rihanna was at her home with her kids during that time. Well, the individual has been arrested and has been identified as Ivanna Lisette Ortiz.

Ortiz is 35 years old and a local from Florida, who has been booked and arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, in connection with the crime she committed. Reports claimed that approximately 10 shots were heard. While the investigation has been going on about what possibly could have led Ivanna Lisette Ortiz to commit such a crime, new information about her has surfaced. Let's have a look!

Rihanna's home shooter was Baker Acted previously

TMZ recently had a conversation with Ivanna Lisette Ortiz's ex-husband, Jed Nikko Valdez Sangalang's attorney, Hal Roen, who revealed to the publication that Ortiz was previously 'Baker Acted' prior to 2023 in Florida. That means Ivanna Lisette Ortiz was placed in a psychiatric facility against her will for 72 hours. She was held due to a state law, which allows an individual to be placed in a psychiatric facility, involuntarily or voluntarily. Not only this, Roen said that Ortiz is 'articulate' and 'believable' and 'convincing', but commits bizarre things. As per the attorney:

"If you sit down with her, she's very convincing. But she does bizarre things."

Rihanna's home shooter lost custody of her child and was arrested for domestic violence

Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, who has been booked in suspicion of murder in connection with her opening fire at Rihanna's home, lost custody of her child. As per court docs, obtained by TMZ, in April 2024, Ortiz's ex-husband, Jed Nikko Valdez Sangalang was given the full custody of their child, thereby cutting her from all contact, that means she was not allowed to contact her child by any means including in-person meetings, phone or video calls, text or email or any third party, until court orders.

During the sworn testimony, Ortiz revealed that she was Baker Acted in 2023, but it was done through false accusations. The judge then cited 'concerning testimony'  about her mental health. Apart from that, when she filed for domestic violence charges against her ex-husband, it backfired, given the fact that the incidents she relied on actually resulted in her own arrest.
