Being a grandparent is a blessing and an utterly special feeling. It is said that parents don’t enjoy their kids’ childhood as much as they enjoy their grandkids’ childhood. A child brings in the happiness and enthusiasm in his or her grandparents’ life and thus, they are blamed for spoiling the kids. The story telling sessions, the secret shopping sessions and fulfilling every wish and need of their grandchild becomes the only motto of every grandparent’s life. Late actor, Rishi Kapoor too loved his granddaughter, Samara with his whole heart and the feeling of love was mutual between them. It was on April 30, 2020, when the Kapoor family had announced the news of Rishi Kapoor’s death, leaving their family, friends and the entire nation in disbelief. While, for us, it was a piece of news that had an everlasting impact, but for his family, this is the hardest truth that they are trying to cope with. Rishi ji’s daughter, Riddhima and his granddaughter, Samara were in Delhi when he had breathed his last and couldn’t make it to his last rites. Riddhima has been mourning the loss of her father ever since that day and her IG handle depicts her pain as she often goes down the memory lane to remember Rishi ji.

Riddhima Kapoor Sahni again went down the memory lane and revisited one sweet memory with her late father, Rishi Kapoor. Taking to her IG stories, Riddhima shared a picture with her family mentioning a red heart atop it. The picture looks like a paparazzi spotting as Riddhima, Neetu ji, Rishi ji can be seen walking. In the picture, while Neetu ji can be seen looking at Riddhima, it was Rishi ji and his granddaughter, Samara’s bond that took our heart away. Rishi ji can be seen walking, gently holding Samara’s hand, while she had looked at her nanu with love in her eyes. The picture speaks volume about the love nanu-natni had for each other. On June 27, 2020, Riddhima had taken to her IG handle to share a collage of her daughter, Samara with her grandfather, Rishi Kapoor. Riddhima had made a collage of two pictures, in one of which, Rishi ji could be seen looking dapper in black shades, and the other picture was of little Samara giving savage vibes, donning a pink and black pair of shades, twinning with her nana ji. Riddhima had captioned the picture as "Most fave pic #twinning" followed by a red heart emoji. As we said, Riddhima’s Instagram account is proof of how much she is missing her father and finding it hard to deal with the loss. On May 14, 2020, Riddhima had taken to her Instagram stories and had shared an unseen family picture. In the picture, we could see Riddhima happily posing with her late father, Rishi Kapoor. Neetu Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Riddhima’s daughter, Samara Sahni were also seen in the picture. Atop the picture, Riddhima had written, “We are family.”

In an interview with Indusparent in 2017, Riddhima Kapoor had talked about how Samara is just like her nanu, Rishi Kapoor and the bond she shares with mamu, Ranbir Kapoor. She had said, “Samara is just like my dad — she is totally like him. She has him and Ranbir wrapped around her little finger and she means business. Girls chase Ranbir and he runs after Samara."
In July 2019, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni had taken to her IG stories to share a picture of her daughter, Samara and her father, Rishi Kapoor, who had looked like a mirror image of each other. The picture was a collage, in which, on the left hand side, we could see Samara’s picture, while on the right hand side was a picture of Rishi ji from his childhood and the two had looked alike. Sharing the picture, Riddhima had written, “Sam & her nana” followed by a heart emoticon atop it.
