RHOSLC's Heather Gay Hints At Fling With 'Below Deck' Captain Jason Chambers? 'We Have A History'

Did Heather Gay just spill Bravo’s biggest (and steamiest) crossover secret? The latest episode of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, which streamed on October 28, 2025 ET, caused quite a stir when the 51-year-old reality TV star confessed in a drunken moment that she had a ‘history’ with Below Deck Down Under heartthrob, Captain Jason Chambers. This unexpectedly casual confession might just have made it the wildest crossover Bravo has witnessed over the years!

The latest RHOSLC Season 6 episode kept the Halloween vibes alive, taking the ladies on a luxury yacht trip to Canouan. Viewers were gifted with this season’s first crossover with Bravo’s hot superyacht reality show, Below Deck Down Under, featuring Captain Jason Chambers and his crew.

The sun-soaked getaway quickly turned stormy when, while riding a water jet with Captain Jason, Heather clung to his back and playfully said she’d ‘ride him like a bronco.’ Well, Gay’s comment didn’t sit well with co-star Britani Bateman, 54, who had already admitted she had a crush on the 52-year-old captain. But it wasn’t until her confrontation that things really went down.

The crossover took an even messier turn when Britani decided to confront Heather about her remark, and the latter dropped the bombshell. Upon being confronted for getting too close to Captain Jason, Gay casually admitted:

“Jason and I are friends. We have a history. We’ve f----- around before. There’s nothing there.”

Britani, clearly stunned, fired back with “What do you mean you’ve f----- around before?” To this, Heather looked a little taken aback, seemingly realising what she had just confessed, and quickly tried to backpedal, saying they were just friends. In her words:

“I’m saying we’re friends. There’s latitude.”

Later, during her confessional, a mortified Heather couldn’t believe what she’d said on camera. “I said that? Serious face? You can’t use that. Delete, delete!” she gasped. But of course, Bravo cameras miss nothing. The crossover moment has since lit up social media, with fans speculating whether Heather and Jason really had a fling or if it was just tipsy banter.

Who is Captain Jason Chambers?

Jason Chambers has become a Bravo heartthrob and fan favourite since joining Below Deck Down Under in March 2022. The 52-year-old superyacht captain is quite popular for his calm leadership style, not to mention his charm and Aussie accent. A former professional rugby player and an active ambassador for environmental organisations. 

Before joining Below Deck, Jason played for the Newcastle Knights in Australia. He is also a PADI Rescue Diver and became a boat captain at age 28. His social media account often features glimpses of his scuba diving adventures with his 10-year-old daughter, Saskia. A philanthropist at heart, Jason is an ambassador for Classroom of Hope, a nonprofit that builds schools using recycled plastic waste.

On the RHOSLC yacht trip, Jason kept things professional, though his easygoing banter with Heather didn’t go unnoticed. Unlike Heather, he maintained his signature composure that made him irresistible to the ladies present. Well, Britani wasn’t thrilled about the captain’s bond with Heather and even admitted she felt a little jealous.

Of course, no RHOSLC episode is complete without some table-flipping drama, and Episode 7 was no different. After Heather’s drunken slip, later that evening, she got herself into more controversy. This time, the 52-year-old clashed with fellow contestant Lisa Barlow, calling her “the source of all the dirt” and accusing her of leaking stories to blogs. The latter fired back, calling herself the “Don of Salt Lake City,” then broke down in tears and called her husband, John, to come get her.

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo, and new episodes stream the next day on Peacock (JioHotstar in India).
