Renowned dancer, Remo D'Souza and his wife, Lizelle D'Souza are facing charges in Maharashtra for allegedly defrauding a dance troupe of Rs. 11.96 crores. According to a PTI report, Remo, his wife, and five others are accused of cheating and forgery. The allegations have raised eyebrows, given their prominent status in the entertainment industry, and fans are left shocked by the severe nature of the accusations. A 26-year-old dancer's complaint led to the case being filed on October 16, 2024, at the Mira Road police station in the Thane district. The complaint alleges that Remo D'Souza, Lizelle, and the other defendants falsely claimed the prize money earned by the dancer's troupe in a television competition between 2018 and July 2024, presenting themselves as the troupe's owners and keeping the Rs. 11.96 crore award money, as stated in the FIR.

Other defendants include Ramesh Gupta, Vinod Raut (a police officer), Frame Production Company, Rohit Jadhav, and Omprakash Shankar Chouhan. The case has been filed under several provisions of the Indian Penal Code, such as section 420 (cheating) and section 465 (forgery). As the legal proceedings progress, it remains to be seen how the involvement of these individuals will affect the overall case.
