Now, an unseen emotional moment by Reid has captured the attention of netizens worldwide. For the unversed, Reid Wiseman is a single father to two daughters. A video has gone viral where Reid before preparing to board the spacecraft made a love felt gesture towards his daughters- Ellie and Katherine.
Commander, Reid Wiseman made a touching gesture towards his two daughters- Ellie and Katherine before he headed to the mission to the Moon. He gave the most heart-touching farewell to his two beautiful children. A video has gone viral on social media, where Reid was seen raising his hands and making a heart symbol, which was reportedly directed towards his two teenage daughters.

For those who do not know, Commander, Reid Wiseman was married to Carroll Taylor, whom he lost back in 2020, after she had a long battle with cancer. Reid often, in his interviews, has revealed that being a single parent was not at all an easy journey for him. Now, amid this, Reid's loving gesture towards his children has gone viral on social media and has won the hearts of his fans. It has resonated with millions globally.

A report by the Firstpost revealed that the liftoff had taken place from launch pad 39B of the Kennedy Space Centre located in Florida. As Reid made his way towards the launchpad, he looked at his two daughters and interacted with them. For Reid, the mission has been very personal, and his emotional gesture showcased the weight of everything he has carried and been through.

Commander, Reid Wiseman, after losing his wife, Carroll, has been a hands-on father to both his children. He gave them an emotional farewell and had earlier warned them about the risks of space travel. Reid has been silently balancing the duties of being a father and a NASA astronaut. Speaking about the Artemis II mission that was launched from NASA's Kennedy Space Center, it has created a huge milestone in the field of modern space exploration. Apart from Reid Wiseman, the crew also has a pilot, Victor Glover, a mission specialist, Christina Koch and a Canadian astronaut, Jeremy Hansen. The four NASA astronauts are on a 10-day mission and will be travelling farther from Earth than any human has in recent times.

Reid Wiseman, earlier back in 2014, had spent 165 days on the International Space Station aboard a Russian Soyuz capsule. The 50-year-old naval aviator and a test pilot had joined NASA's astronaut corps back in 2009 as the chief of astronauts. A report by ITV.com revealed that Reid had to talk to his daughters about his Artemis II mission. He did agree that when his daughters agreed to the mission, moonmade cupcakes were waiting for him. Reid did share that the toughest part of his mission was to leave behind his two daughters. In his words:
"'Look, of all the people on planet Earth right now, there are four people that are in a position to go fly around the moon," he said. "I cannot say no to that opportunity."
