Meet the bride and the groom

Our handsome and down-to-earth groom, Amit Sethia, hails from Tezapur, Assam, and he has spent a major part of his life in Delhi. On the other hand, our shy bride, Divya Surana, who has an infectious smile, hails from Bangalore.

Divya and Amit had an arranged marriage, but looking at their connection and the chemistry that they share, we can clearly say that it was match destined by stars.

Their wedding journey begins

Divya and Amit had grand wedding celebrations, spread over four fun-filled days. They had everything from a Punjabi-themed mehendi ceremony and an exciting pool party to a traditional haldi ceremony and a stunning wedding.

Mehendi ceremony

Divya and Amit had a Punjabi-themed mehendi ceremony. The bride-to-be looked absolutely resplendent in a colourful traditional Punjabi attire. She made sure to match the theme that she had chosen in a long kurta with a short phulkari-work jacket and a lungi-style skirt.

What made this bride stand out for us was the fact that she chose not to get over-loaded with gold, silver or diamonds. Divya opted for flower jewellery instead, and she for sure looked stunning.

Well when it came to fashion, the handsome groom looked no less than his bride. Amit chose a very stylish and traditional kurta with a churidar-salwar, and a printed jacket. Now, that is what we call a picture-perfect couple.

Their mehendi venue too matched the vibrant theme of the event in terms of décor. And, we just love that stage set-up of flowers where Divya sat looking like a princess as her mehendi was being applied.

Sangeet ceremony

The mehendi was followed by a fun-filled sangeet ceremony. And, before the sangeet ceremony began, Divya also had the Thapa ceremony. In this ritual, the bride leaves her handprints behind on a piece of paper at her maternal home, before her wedding.

For this function, our beautiful bride, Divya, chose a pale yellow-green anarkali, which had beautiful work on it and completed it with a vibrant orange dupatta. And, the groom, Amit, looked dapper in a western suit with a tie and a silver brooch.

Their sangeet ceremony was truly a fun-filled celebration as their friends and family members performed some special dance numbers for the beautiful couple. Even the otherwise-shy bride was also not left behind, and she too gave a special performance for her groom.

Pool party

Well, if there is a couple whom we know, who truly added an amazing dose of masti to their wedding, it was Divya and Amit. Hours before their wedding, the couple chose to celebrate the last few moments of their bachelor life together by organising a pool party.

For the pool party, our stylish bride, Divya, chose a traditional yet chic and trendy anarkali in gold and blue while Amit went with a red T-shirt and white pants.

With an exciting pool party, complete with cool props and rain dance, Divya and Amit enjoyed the morning of their wedding and their last hours of bachelorhood with each other and their loved ones.

The wedding day

On June 6, 2014, Divya and Amit tied the knot. In a traditional red lehenga with golden work, Divya made a stunning Indian bride. The simplicity of her bridal look and her shy smile just made for some stunning clicks.

While Divya looked every bit like a princess, our groom Amit too looked like a prince charming in beige and brown sherwani.

Amit and Divya had a beautiful Marwari wedding, complete with all traditional rituals.

Post-Wedding Ceremony

After the wedding, Divya entered her new home with the Pag Pakdai ceremony. Pag Pakdai is a Marwari wedding ritual (quite similar to the muhh dikhai ceremony).

In this ceremony the bride takes blessings of all the elders in the groom’s family by touching their feet. After this, the elders give her their blessings and a shagun (gift). And, the bride is not supposed to leave their feet till the time she gets a gift or shagun of her choice. It is a fun-filled traditional ceremony, which helps a bride get comfortable and acquainted with her new family.

What the bride has to say about her photographers

What is it that makes a wedding an everlasting keepsake for the couple? Well, it is those stunning photographs that capture it all- the fun, the excitement, the stolen glances, those teary-eyes, beautiful rituals, and everything else. And, here is what Divya has to say about her weding photographers, "Mukesh and Sudha were awesome to be with. They have an eye for beauty and captured everything perfectly. They captured so many great moments. Some, we didn't even know existed until we looked through all our pictures. It's like we are reliving our wedding. The moment when I look at my photograph, close my eyes and I feel my heart swell as I relive that beautiful memory.”

Well, looking at the beautiful wedding pictures that they have shared with us, we can definitely say that she has said it all!
