Why do brides these days ditch painful heels and opt for flats when it comes to their wedding shoes? Well, modern brides chose comfort and style over heels and height. Not Just Threads, founder, Pallavi Aggarwal shared the modern bride's preference when it comes to customisation for their D-day shoes. She said:

"Okay first of all, it is the comfort that matters a lot, then next is the style. They want exclusivity as they want to get their shoes customised. And it should be something that is reuseable, as in they should be able to wear them with other outfits.  Lastly, the price range should fit in their budget."

"Also, there are some special requests like Nepalese bride, South Indian bride and Catholic bride, Nepalese bride sent me the pictures of her traditional Nepalese jewelry and what groom is going to wear and wanted to incorporate them exactly as this is a huge part of their marriage tradition. I start by making the sketch and show it to them is they would like to add or delete anything, after that, I start the color and put embellishments, glitter on it to compete."

When we got in touch with the brand, SULIT by Hiral and Urja, they shared with us the details a bride is looking for when they come for customisation. They said:

“Today when a bride comes to customise her bridal pair ,the first concern is the comfort ,because on her D-day she would be standing all the while. So we make sure that the bridal pair is made soft by giving in enough cushioning and taking care of details so there is nothing that would hurt her feet.  Many brides for her pre-wedding functions want to wear a pair designed with some catchy tags embellished like “sexy-dulhaniya” “pataka-kudi” etc .Now, when it’s about the Wedding pair,we take care about making it look the best..The handwork and shades are picked in a way that they match their outfit and completes their look perfectly because we believe that a bride on her Wedding day has to look completely perfect from top to Bottom! Every detail is taken care of for the pair and they are handcrafted with love to help the bride to complete her special look for her special day. And as a part of SULIT,we believe Shoes are a girls bestfriend, and they add the sparkle to every outfit that they Are wearing!”

Talking about comfort, well, we spotted another bride, Swarna Tibrewal, who opted for a pastel blue ‘Pataka Dulhan’ slippers and gave away the contrasting slippers to her bride squad as a wedding favour.
