Raveena Tandon is one of the most talented actresses of her generation, and she has proved her terrific mettle through her plethora of films. Apart from her acting chops, she was also known for her sizzling dance moves, and some of her dance songs, such as Tip Tip Barsa Pani and Zubaan Pe Jo Nahi Aye, among others, which went on to become chartbusters of their time. And now, the actress revealed some startling facts about her shooting such dance numbers.
The 1994-released film, Mohra became the hit film for the decade for many reasons. While Akshay and Raveena’s on-screen jodi and visible chemistry was one of the prime reasons, it was also because of its popular song, Tip Tip Barsa Pani, that audiences remained hooked onto the silver screen. For the unversed, the song featured Raveena and Akshay performing a sensual dance number under the rain. Fast forward to today, in a recent interaction with The New Indian, Raveena revealed the multiple conditions she levied on the makers for doing the song. In her words:

“I was very clear that my saree will not come off, this will not happen, that will not happen, there’ll be no kissing, there’ll be no nothing. So, there were a lot of cross marks rather than tick marks on that song, and eventually we came up with something that was Tip Tip, which was a correct balance of sensuality, more than anything else.”

Going ahead in the interview, Raveena highlighted how throughout her career, whenever she was asked to do a sensual dance number or acting sequence, she would ensure that her performance would never blur the lines with sexuality. Emphasising on her belief that one can look sexy even covered up, she mentioned:
“They were sensuous songs, yes, there was nothing overtly sexual about it. I always believed there is a thin line between in-your-face sexuality and sensuality.”
A few days back, in an interview with Zoom, Raveena opened up on her decision to adopt her cousin’s daughters, Chaya and Pooja, at an early age and revealed her countless criticisms and challenges. Specifying how some popular tabloids had referred to her adopted daughters as her hidden children whom she had out of wedlock, Raveena mentioned:
“Whenever you do something, there will always be these trolls or someone will make some sexist remark, trying to create controversies out of nothing. I remember one article even saying that these must be her (Raveena’s) hidden children, which she must have had out of wedlock. When I was 21, they were eight and 11. So, when did I have them? When I was 11 or 12? Trolling happens even today… Anything you do, there will be trolling. I say you shouldn’t pay attention to these people.”

Well, Raveena Tandon was one actress who set an exemplary model when she adopted her daughters, Pooja and Chaya, at the age of 21. Nevertheless, she also revealed how she staunchly laid her condition to her then-hubby-to-be, Anil Thadani, that she would only marry him if he loved her gang, including her daughters and pets.
