Raveena Tandon, known for her admirable acting performances and famous dance sequences, had a successful career in Bollywood. The actress also worked in many South Indian films in her career and gained popularity amongst the audiences. Recently, during a conversation with Rajshri Unplugged, Raveena shared the contrasting differences she experienced while working with Hindi and South film crews.
Raveena Tandon worked in the film, Taqdeerwala (1995), backed by a Hyderabad-based production house, Suresh Productions. Raveena shared how the limited budget of the film bankrolled by South production houses helped them to be more efficient with their resources. In a conversation on YouTube channel, Rajshri Unplugged, Raveena revealed her experience sharing:
“We shot five songs in Mauritius with a crew of only nine people, no light men, no generators, no lights, nothing. They shot the songs with two baby lights and only reflectors, the ones with the silver foil. That’s how all the songs were shot and you look at the quality of those songs.”

Ranveena extensively worked in Hindi Films and was a popular leading actress during the 90s. She opened up on how the international outdoors of Hindi films had a crew of almost 200 people. The sight made her question the use of resources in a movie in the Hindi film Industry, speaking about her experience she said:
“When I would shoot in Mumbai and we would go for outdoors from here, to Switzerland or some other place, 200 people would go along. I used to say, 'Why do you need so many people when we can do all of this work with 10 people?”'
In recent years, Ranveena has preferred to work with OTT projects more than theatrical releases. She believes OTT has created a space for more ‘believable and identifiable stories.’ At the same time, the actress has delivered some successful releases on OTT, such as the suspense-thriller film, One Friday Night and the legal drama film, Patna Shuklla. In an interview with The Quint, the actress was quoted saying:
“That is what I’m enjoying doing. There were times, in the late 90s, where I would stop in the middle of a scene and ask myself, ‘Am I really saying this ridiculous stuff?’ I would question my own sensibilities. The sensibilities are matching now. Maybe I was always more inclined towards the kind of work I’m doing now.”
