Ratan Tata's First-GF Met Him Four Decades After Breakup, She Hid His Photos In Her Lingerie Drawer

Ratan Tata was famous for his vision, business technique and social work. While many know him as an industrialist, a philanthropist, and a social worker, his young friend in the '20s, Shantanu Naidu, calls him a 'lighthouse', the one who shows the right path in the normal and extreme weather. Ratan Tata was a man of words who believed in 'forever kinds of friendships and bonds'. And one such relationship he had with his ex-girlfriend, due to whom he never married.

Ratan Tata's biographer, Thomas Mathew, revealed his love story with American woman, Caroline Jones

We all know Ratan Tata was madly in love with an American woman, Caroline Jones, whom he met while working in the USA. They were about to get married, but Ratan Tata was called back home when his grandmother fell ill. Ratan Tata asked Caroline to travel to India, but due to the Indio-China war, she backed off, and they parted ways. Later, Caroline tied the knot with Owen Jones. 

Ratan Tata's biographer, Thomas Mathew, revealed details about his love life and how the industrialist left Caroline charmed with his looks, hazel eyes and strong personality in San Francisco. Mathew gushed:

"Caroline was charmed by Tata's looks, hazel eyes and personality from the moment she saw him in San Francisco. He was almost like a Greek God back then. And Tata too fell head over heels in love with her." 

Ratan Tata vowed never to meet Caroline again in his life

The biographer revealed that Ratan Tata was so much in love with Caroline that when she delivered her first child, he travelled to San Francisco. While he thought that the former would be unhappy in his life, seeing her happy, he decided never to get in touch with her till the time Caroline re-connected with him. The biographer said:

"But the two of them were so much in love that in 1966, after the birth of Caroline's first child, Tata travelled to San Francisco to meet her. He took Caroline and Owen out for dinner and confessed that he wanted to see the former unhappy so that he could be with her. But instead, he saw her very happy in her life with Owen, and he vowed never to get in touch with her again, and he did not until she reached out to him decades later."

Caroline re-connected with Ratan Tata again in 2008 after four decades of their breakup

Ratan Tata's biographer, Mathew, revealed that Caroline's husband, Owen, passed away in 2006. After this, Caroline sent an e-mail to Ratan Tata, and it was in 2008 that they reconnected with each other. Thereafter, Caroline would come to India in December and would spend 2-3 weeks at his home. 

Mathew revealed that after Ratan Tata and Caroline parted ways in 1962, she always remembered him. She would hide his photos in the last drawer of her wardrobe, which was her lingerie drawer. He said:

"She hid his photos in the last drawer of her wardrobe, which is the lingerie drawer. And she told me that every time she thought about Tata, she took the photos out and said 'sorry' and kept them back inside. And she did this when her husband was not around."
