Television star Rashami Desai is a well-known face in the industry. The actress has been in showbiz for over twenty years and is immensely loved by her fans. Recently, the actress opened up about some unfortunate incidents that took place when she was just 16 and starting her career.
In a recent interview with Bollywood Bubble, Rashami opened up about facing the casting couch when her career was starting. The actress shared the experience, recalling it as uncomfortable. She recalled how her mother had to intervene and confront a man who tried to make her unconscious during one casting couch.
Rashami, who has become a household name since her appearance in serials like Uttaran and Dil Se Dil Tak, described her casting couch experience as unfortunate. She shared that although she has openly talked about her experience several times over the years, it still remains a fresh wound in her mind.
Recalling the incident, she shared that she was called for an audition, but when she got there, there was no one but a man who tried to make her unconscious. Rashami further added that she remembers feeling uncomfortable and somehow managed to escape. She shared the details of the occurrences soon after with her mother. Rashami shared:
"Unfortunately, I experienced something like this, and I have spoken on many occasions about this. The internet is filled with so many such stories already. I remember I was called for an audition, and when I went there, there was no one else except (the man). I was just 16 back then, and he tried to make me unconscious. I was uncomfortable but somehow managed to escape. After a few hours, I told everything to my mother."
The actress shared that as soon as she got home, she confided in her mother about the harrowing event. The actress' mother then decided to teach the man a lesson. The very next day, Rashami visited the man again, but this time, she was accompanied by her mother. The actress shared that when her mother saw the man, she slapped him! She shared:
"I remember the next day, I went to meet him with my mother and my mother had slapped him to teach him a lesson."
Rashami further revealed that even though the casting couch is a part of every industry, it is not just bad people and the industry is not all bad. She added that she eventually found some really good people and just focused on enjoying her work.
"Casting couch is a real thing, but then, every industry has good and bad people. I am fortunate to have worked with some fabulous people, with whom I have had good working experience. God has been kind."
We all saw an unfiltered and raw version of Rashami on Bigg Boss 13. The actress was a contestant in the show along with the late actor Sidharth Shukla and Punjab ki Katrina Kaif, Shehnaaz Gill. She is also well known for her appearances in Bhojpuri films and is all set to appear in two more regional films, Tane Nai Samjay and Chambe Di.
