Mumbai Police Reaches Ranveer Allahbadia's House After His Crass Comment On Samay Raina's Show

Ranveer Allahbadia's controversial comment on parents has stirred the nation. A team of Mumbai Police officers have now reached the residence of the Youtuber.

Mumbai Police Reaches Ranveer Allahbadia's House After His Crass Comment On Samay Raina's Show

Youtuber, Ranveer Allahbadia landed himself in a soup when he came on Samay Raina's show, India's Got Latent, as a judge and passed a controversial comment on parents which was obscene to a contestant. As per the fresh new update, a team of Mumbai Police officers had reached the residence of Ranveer. The complaint row had begun when Ranver, along with influencers Apoorva Makhija and comedian, Samay, made a lewd comment to a contestant related to their parents.

Why the Mumbai Police reached the doorsteps of Ranveer Allahbadia?

Multiple complaints were filed against Ranveer, who has an Instagram base of 4.5 million, apart from 1.05 crore YouTube subscribers. Multiple FIRs were also passed against Ranveer, Samay and Apoorva. According to a report by the Times Of India, police sources close to the publication shared that the visit was because of the complaint that was filed against Ranveer. A team of 5 police officers arrived outside the residence of  YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia in Versova, Mumbai, on the afternoon of February 11, 2025. A video has gone online where a police official outside Ranveer's house was asked about the case. He noted:

"We do not have any information regarding this. As a beat master, we have to come here for rounds. We have just come here for security reasons."

 Ranveer Allahbadia's lewd comment controversy

It was on February 10, 2025, when a complaint was registered against Ranveer, influencer, Apoorva and comedian Samay, along with the organisers of the show, for making inappropriate comments and passing offensive remarks on the sets of the show. Reportedly, after the complaint was lodged the Khar Police had reached the recording place but had found that the shooting had already concluded. The sexual overtone remark sparked outrage on social media with many stating that the creators of the show had crossed their boundaries. Until February 10, 2025, FIRs were reportedly not registered, and police officials had stated that an investigation was underway.

 Ranveer Allahbadia issues public apology

Allahbadia, who was being fired on social media, had taken to X on February 10, 2025, to apologise to his fans and all the social media users. He said that comedy was not his forte but he was just here to say sorry. Ranveer admitted it was a lapse of judgement at his part. A part of his tweet read:

"I shouldn't have said what I said on India's Got Latent. I personally had a lapse in judgment. It was not cool on my part. Family is the last thing I would ever disrespect."

 Devendra Fadnavis takes a dig at Ranveer Allahbadia

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also slammed Ranveer and said that he got the information about Ranveer's comment on the show. However, he had not watched the episode, and what was said on the show was not acceptable. He spoke on the importance of Freedom Of Speech and noted:

Abhivyakti swatantra (Freedom of speech) ki bhi koi maryada hai, hamare samaaj mei. Hum ne ashleelta ko lekar bhi kuch niyam tay kiye hai, agar unko koi paar karta hai to bahut galat baat hai, agar aisi koi baat hoti hai to uske upar karwai honi chahiye.
