Ranveer Allahbadia has been one of the most followed fitness influencers in the country and has witnessed immense growth as a podcaster. But, he recently found himself in a fix after his comments on Samay Raina's show, India's Got Latent enraged the masses. Everyone, from celebrities and ministers to netizens, are angry, which has also caused legal trouble for the 31-year-old. As the backlash continues to grow, a new report has revealed that Abhinav Chandrachud is representing the podcaster. Here's everything you might want to know about him.

Ex-CJI's son, Abhinav Chandrachud is  represents Ranveer Allahbadia in the Supreme Court

Ranveer Allahbadia approached the Supreme Court of India on February 14, 2025, seeking permission to consolidate multiple FIRs filed against him in Mumbai, Assam and other places. Interestingly, PTI revealed that this plea was kept forward by senior lawyer, Abhinav Chandrachud, son of former Chief Justice of India D.Y. Chandrachud. However, the lawyer urged the court to hear the plea first, citing summons issued by the Assam police requiring Allahbadia to appear for investigation. However, the top court did not agree and assigned a bench that would hear the case within 2-3 days.

Who is Abhinav Chandrachud?

Abhinav Chandrachud is a senior and well-respected lawyer who practices at Bombay High Court. He is the son of former Chief Justice of India, D.Y Chandrachud, and has worked hard to build his name in the legal industry. He has an excellent educational background and years of experience in the legal domain. Abhinav graduated from Mumbai's Government Law College in 2008 before moving to the US to pursue a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Harvard Law School as a Dana Scholar.

The reputed lawyer also obtained significant qualifications, including a Doctor of the Science of Law (J.S.D.) and a Master of the Science of Law (J.S.M.) from Stanford Law School, where he was a Franklin Family Scholar. Abhinav returned to India after completing his education and worked as an associate attorney at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. Apart from Law, he has also written some books like Republic of Rhetoric: Free Speech and the Constitution of India and Supreme Whispers: Conversations with Judges of the Supreme Court of India 1980-1989.

Why is Ranveer Allahbadia in legal trouble?

Ranveer Allahbadia stirred controversy after he featured in an episode of comedian, Samay Raina's show, India's Got Latent. Amid his interaction with fans, Ranveer asked a controversial question to a contestant asking if he would watch his parents get intimate every day for the rest of his life or join in once and stop it forever. When the clip of the episode went viral, Ranveer, along with other guests like Apoorva Mukhija, Ashish Chanchlani, and Samay himself, got into legal trouble. Samay has taken down all the episodes of his show from YouTube, while Ranveer immediately shared an apology video, but he has been missing after it.
