Animal becomes the next film to be shot extensively at the Pataudi Palace, Haryana

Saif Ali Khan, a.k.a the current Nawab of Pataudi has his ancestral roots in the lavish Pataudi Palace in Haryana. Also known as ‘Ibrahim Kothi’, the palace was passed onto Saif from his father, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. The net worth of the lavish property is estimated to be around Rs. 800 crores. Due to its scenic beauty, the actor often leases the palace to film productions. While a number of films have been shot in the Pataudi Palace previously, it was Saif’s brother-in-law, Ranbir Kapoor’s new release, Animal, that was extensively shot in the place.

For those who are left wondering about the real-to-reel reference of the palace as seen in the film, it is quite easy to spot the vast lawns and golf gardens of the Pataudi Palace that have been shown in many scenes during the film. These are the same sprawling gardens where Saif and his wifey, Kareena can often be seen enjoying their time together. In fact, the most obvious scene is the one where a bloodied Ranbir Kapoor walks down a corridor inside the Pataudi Palace. That same hallway corridor was spotted in a picture of Saif Ali Khan sometime back, as he enjoyed his vacation in his ancestral home.

Saif Ali Khan once revealed his favourite spots inside his ancestral home, the Pataudi Palace

In one of his earlier interviews with The Forbes, Saif Ali Khan had reminisced about his days spent in the Pataudi Palace. The actor revealed how the entire place reconnects with various fond memories with his family. Choosing some of his specific spots, he said:

“I do not feel more at home anywhere else than at the Pataudi Palace. Every place else, somehow, feels rented and temporary. We have had many events here when the entire family–all the parents and kids–have gotten together, and these are some of my fondest memories in the place. From the middle of the palace, from an open chhabutra, you can see the moon and that is my favourite spot to sit in and look at the moon and the stars. My second favourite space is the library. Sometime ago, I renovated the palace and added some personal touches to it.”
