It was on Karan Johar's chat show, Koffee With Karan, when Alia Bhatt had confessed her crush on Ranbir Kapoor and her wish to marry him. And listening to her wish, Cupid had struck its sharpest arrow, and the adorable couple had fallen head-over-heels in love with one another while shooting for their first film together, Brahmastra.
While there were rumours of romance brewing between Ranbir and Alia, the duo had made it official by walking hand-in-hand at Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja's wedding reception in May 2018. For the past few days, there have been reports about Ranbir and Alia's hush-hush wedding, however, nothing was confirmed by the actors. Earlier, Alia's uncle, Robin Bhatt had confirmed the news and had revealed the wedding would take place on April 14, 2022.

A few moments back, Ranbir Kapoor's sister, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, along with her mother, Neetu Kapoor, daughter, Samara Sahni and hubby, Bharat Sahni were spotted outside Ranbir's home, Vaastu for the couple's engagement ceremony. Riddhima looked gorgeous in a silver sequinned saree, which she teamed up with a halter neck blouse and matching accessories. On the other hand, Neetu looked beautiful in a floral lehenga. Other guests like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ayan Mukerji, Reema Jain, Aadar Jain and Anissa Malhotra too were spotted at the celebrations. Take a look:
It was on the same day, 43 years back, when Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor had got engaged. A few moments back, Neetu Kapoor had taken to her IG handle and had posted a throwback picture with Rishi Kapoor from their engagement ceremony. In the picture, a young Rishi Kapoor could be seen sliding the engagement ring on Neetu Singh's finger. Along with the picture, Neetu had written:
"Fond memories of baisakhi day as we got engaged 43 years back on 13th April 1979."
Amid Ranbir and Alia's wedding reports, the wedding invite of Neetu Kapoor and late Rishi Kapoor's reception had gone viral on social media. With the logo of RK Studio, the card had details of the wedding reception. The text on the card could be read as:

"Mr and Mrs Raj Kapoor request the pleasure of your company on the auspicious occasion of the marriage reception of their son Rishi (Grandson of Late Mr and Mrs Prithviraj Kapoor) with Neetu (Daughter of Mrs Rajee Singh)."
The reason behind Ranbir and Alia's hush-hush wedding is because of the poor health of her maternal grandfather. A source close to the couple had told ETimes that the wedding would take place at the RK studios in Chembur and would be a close-knit affair. The source had informed:
"Alia's grandfather N Razdan wanted to see her getting married to Ranbir. A hush hush wedding has thus been planned on April 17 which will be a close knit family affair. The ceremony will be held at RK Studios and nothing extravagant has been planned yet."

In an interview with Rajeev Masand, when the journalist had recalled Ranbir saying that he wanted to be married by 32 and have kids by 34 and had asked him to comment on it, the Brahmastra star had retorted:
“Well, I think it would have already been sealed if the pandemic had not hit our lives. I don’t want to jinx it by saying anything. I want to tick mark that goal very soon in my life.”
