Prabhu Deva's Ex-Wife, Ramlath Talks About Him After 14 Years Of Their Divorce, Says, 'I Would...'

Prabhu Deva is a popular face when it comes to dance choreography. He has choreographed songs for almost all the leading film stars in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi, like Thalapathy Vijay, Chiranjeevi, Hrithik Roshan and many more. Although, Prabhu Deva, the ‘Indian Michael Jackson’ shines bright in the industry, he has a troubled married life. It has been 14 years since the dance choreographer got divorced from his ex-wife, Ramlath. In an interview with Aval Vikatan, Ramlath opened up about her chemistry with her ex-husband, Prabhu Deva.

Ramlath revealed Prabhu Deva has been a great father

In the interview with Aval Vikatan, Ramlath said that she would not say anything bad about her ex-husband, Prabhu Deva. She shared that even after their divorce, Prabhu Deva stood strong with her when it came to their children and always prioritised them. The ex-couple, Prabhu Deva and Ramlath, is still co-parenting their kids after 14 years of their divorce. Addressing Prabhu Deva’s sense of responsibilities, she said:

“His children are his life. He is very attached to both of them. The father-son trio talk to each other irrespective of the situation. We take every decision mutually, when it comes to our children.”

Ramlath talked about her relationship status with Prabhu Deva

In the same interview, Ramlath expressed that she would not say anything bad about Prabhu Deva, since he is a good human. She also shared that even after their divorce, he didn’t say anything bad about her to anyone. Addressing the same, she said:

“I would be angry with him if he had said anything bad about me after we broke up, but he never did. I would not say anything bad about someone like that.”

Ramlath converted and became a Hindu to marry Prabhu Deva

Prabhu Deva met Ramlath for the first time in the early 1990s, when he was establishing his career in choreography in the Tamil cinema. Ramlath, a classical dancer, soon fell in love with Prabhu Deva. But as Ramlath was a Muslim and Prabhu Deva was a Hindu, both their family stood against their relationship. However, Ramlath got converted to Hinduism and named herself, Latha, and the couple got married in 1995. Soon, they became parents to three sons, but the eldest son died of cancer at the age of 13. After 16 years of marriage, the couple got divorced in 2011 as Prabhu Deva got into an extramarital affair with actress, Nayanthara.

Prabhu Deva’s extramarital affair with Nayanthara led to his divorce from Ramlath

In September 2010, Prabhu Deva made headlines for his bold confession of having a two years relationship with Nayanthara and wishing to marry her. In 2009, during the release of the film, Villu, there were rumours that Prabhu and Nayanthara were in a relationship. But the ex-couple parted their ways in 2012. As per reports, the duo broke up as Prabhu wanted Nayan to quit acting after marriage.

Prabhu Deva's second marriage with Himani Singh, a doctor

In 2020, Prabhu Deva got married for the second time to Dr. Himani Singh. Love sparked between the two, when Prabhu Deva went to Himani for physiotherapy. Prabhu Deva was 47 years old when he tied the knot for the second time. The couple welcomed their baby girl in 2023.
