The story of Maa Sita and Shri Ram has been a household tale in Indian homes for ages. From serials, novels, movies and cartoons, several adaptations of the epic have been made and loved immensely by the Sanatanis in the country. However, their love and teachings are never enough; hence, when Nitesh Tiwari announced that he would be bringing another adaptation of the epic, Ramayana, fans have been eagerly anticipating its release. And now, after a long, passionate wait, filmmaker Namit Malhotra has finally given fans their first glimpse. The movie stars, Ranbir Kapoor as 'Shri Ram', Sai Pallavi as 'Mata Sita' and Yash as 'Lankapati Ravan'.
The fans have been waiting for the first look at the film to be released, and several critics have had the exclusive preview of a 7-minute-long vision showreel, which has further intrigued the audience. Amidst that, some glimpses from the film have been shared online, and the netizens cannot get enough. For Hindus, Ramayana is not just a story but an emotion they deeply connect with, making this project far more than just an ordinary film for them.
While keeping the audience intrigued, the makers have released some first glimpses of the film, leaving the entire internet in awe. The series of pictures showcases several graphic representations of Lord Ram, Ravan, Lord Vishnu, Lord Shiva, and Lord Brahma. The pictures also introduced the tridev as the protector, destroyer, and creator, respectively. While giving the audience a hint of how deeply the team has dived into the epic to perfect every second of it.
The clips also feature the first look of Ranbir Kapoor as 'Shri Ram'. The actor could be seen shooting an arrow in one of the pictures, while the other was a close-up of the almighty king preparing his bow to shoot. On the other hand, the stills also featured Yash in the role of 'Lankapati Ravan'; the actor's face was not revealed, as in both pictures, only his eye was visible. It is also interesting to note that the makers have paid attention to details while sharing the two stills, while Ravan's pictures are dark and gloomy. Shri Ram's photographs reflect vibrance and serenity.
Filmmaker and entrepreneur, Namit Malhotra, took to his Instagram handle on the morning of November 6, 2024, and shared the first-ever poster of Ramayana. The filmmaker shared that the movie will be released in two parts, with each part scheduled for release on Diwali in 2026 and 2027, respectively. The film was originally planned as a trilogy, but it was later streamlined into two parts. The shooting for part 1 is already wrapped, while the shooting for part 2 is underway. The post-production work is reportedly set to begin in July 2025, and the first glimpse is expected to be released on July 3, 2025.
