Filmmaker, Ram Gopal Varma is one of the most controversial celebrities in the entertainment world. He never minces his words when it comes to sharing his opinion on one thing or another. Well, this time, he shared cryptic posts about marriages and divorces days after Hardik Pandya and Natasa Stankovic announced that they were parting ways. However, he didn't directly take the estranged couple's name in the posts.

Ram Gopal Varma states that marriages are made in hell

On July 20, 2024, taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), Ram Gopal Varma shared a series of cryptic posts about marriage. The Rangeela director mentioned that marriages are made in hell while divorces are made in heaven. He also wondered if a marriage lasts for the number of days that the parents invest in preparing for the wedding. His note can be read as:

“MARRIAGES are made in HELL and DIVORCES are made in HEAVEN. I wonder if today’s MARRIAGE in reality does even last as long as the no.of days the parents perform the MARRIAGE.”

Ram Gopal Varma mentions it's better to hire a nurse than to marry

RGV then penned another cryptic note mentioning that instead of opting for marriage, a person should hire a nurse to look after them in old age. Highlighting the advantages of doing so, the director said that a wife will make an old man feel guilty, whereas the nurse will perform her paid job diligently. He penned:

“A paid nurse is a far better option than to marry for being looked after in old age ..The nurse will do it as a paid job whereas a wife will make the old man feel eternally guilty. LOVE is BLIND and MARRIAGE is an EYE OPENER.”

Ram Gopal Varma takes a dig at the divorce rates these days

In yet another post, the director said that a person should fall in love with the same person again and again in order to make their marriage work. He also emphasised the fact that looking at the divorce rate these days, it can be said that poor parents are idiots to have spent a hell lot of money on their kids' marriages. He wrote:

“A marriage can work only if you have an extraordinary ability of falling in love again and again and again with the same person. Considering the super high rate of divorces today, the biggest idiots are the poor parents who spend through their noses for the marriage.”

Ram Gopal Varma's controversial statements came days after Hardik Pandya and Natasa Stankovic announced their separation. The couple, who had three wedding ceremonies, is blessed with a son, Agastya Pandya. Natasa flew back to her hometown, Serbia, with Agastya and shared a post on Instagram, revealing that she and Hardik have decided to end their relationship after four years of wedding.
