Telugu film industry's most prominent family, the mega family, is again in the spotlight amid suspicion over a new family feud between two prominent stars. In the last few months, two highly-awaited films, Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 and Ram Charan's Game Changer, have been released with completely different responses. Now, new updates have revealed that possibly a statement by Allu Arjun's father, Allu Aravind, on Game Changer's debacle might be the cause.
Allu Aravind recently commented that his nephew, Ram Charan's Game Changer, did not perform well at the box office, which didn't sit well with the superstar and the mega family's fans. After a while, netizens saw that Ram Charan, who earlier used to follow his cousin, Allu Arjun, on Instagram, has unfollowed him. However, he follows Allu Arjun's brother, Allu Sirish, on the platform. On the other hand, the Pushpa 2 actor doesn't followed anyone except his wife, Allu Sneha Reddy.
Since the news gained attention on social media, fans are trying to speculate the reason behind the fresh move. Many netizens felt it was linked to a comment by Allu Arjun's father, Allu Aravind, who allegedly took a subtle dig at Game Changer's box office performance at a public event. For those unaware, he attended the pre-release event of Thandel and mentioned that Dil Raju, the producer of Game Changer, made history. He gestured a thumb down at the film's name and then gave a thumbs-up sign over Dil Raju's other film, Sankranthi Vastunam. He also mentioned:
"He (Dil Raju) got raided by the Income Tax (department). A lot happened in a week."
After the speculation of the feud made headlines, no one from the mega family gave any statement to deny or confirm it. However, after getting trolled, Allu Aravind explained his intentions behind the statement in a press conference in Hyderabad. Allu Aravind denied taking a dig at Ram Charan and explained:
"This is emotional and personal to me, I need to address this. That day, when I addressed Dil Raju, I only meant that he saw loss and gain within a week. I was trolled so much for it, but the implication of it was unintentional. Charan is like my son…he is my only menalludu (sister's son), I am his only mavayya (maternal uncle). Our relationship is excellent, so please leave it alone. I understand now that I should not have brought it up."
Game Changer was a political-action film in Telugu that starred Ram Charan, Kiara Advani, Anjali, S. J. Suryah and more. It was directed by S. Shankar in his Telugu debut, and produced by Dil Raju under his Sri Venkateswara Creations. The film released on January 10, 2025. Game Changer took over two years to be made at a budget of more than Rs. 300 crore. However, it received mixed-to-negative reviews and tanked at the box office.
