Rakshanda Khan And Sachin Tyagi's Love Story: Religious Boundaries To Keeping Ramadan Fast Together

The gorgeous Rakshanda Khan stole many hearts with her beautiful looks when she appeared on many hit TV shows. The actress played a variety of roles in popular shows like Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Kasamh Se, Naagin 3 and many others. Rakshanda is married to actor, Sachin Tyagi.

Just like Rakshanda, Sachin is also a leading name in the telly world. He has been a part of the famous show, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai since 2016 and is still one of the favourite characters from the show. Sachin and Rakshanda’s love story is straight out of a Bollywood film and has all the filmy elements.

Rakshanda Khan and Sachin Tyagi met for the first time during a show

Not everyone knows this, but Sachin Tyagi is a trained classical singer, who came to Mumbai in 1993 with an aspiration to become a singer. It was during one such show that Sachin got an offer to sing at a show in Indonesia, and Rakshanda hosted the show. It was at the show that Sachin met Rakshanda, and the two struck a chord of friendship.

Sachin Tyagi proposed marriage to Rakshanda

It was Sachin’s wit that Rakshanda loved the most about him. The two remained friends for many years. From long drives to outings, their friendship soon blossomed into love. As per Rakshanda, Sachin was clear from the beginning that it was not a passing friendship or relationship, and he always wanted to culminate it into marriage.

Sachin Tyagi was earlier married and also had two kids from his first marriage. It was one of the hindrances when Sachin and Rakshanda planned to get married. Once, in a throwback interview with a leading publication, Sachin talked about the same and said:

“Tough aisa tough nahi thi, actually, haalaat aise the. I mean it was like excessive baggage of life, and your past is also there. And even she accepted me, but then, people around you always have expectations that their girl should go to this home, her husband should be like this, and all that. But me, on the other hand was already a married man”.

Sachin Tyagi is from a Hindu family in Uttar Pradesh, and Rakshanda is a Muslim girl from Mumbai. Their different religious backgrounds led to troubles, and their respective families didn’t give their nod to Sachin and Rakshanda’s union. There was a lot of opposition from both sides, and the couple fought and convinced their parents for seven years. After a lot of fights, the couple got married in 2014 and welcomed their daughter, Enaya Tyagi.

Despite hailing from different religious backgrounds, Sachin and Rakshanda respect each other’s beliefs and culture. In a conversation with Telly Masala, Sachin talked about fasting for 30 days with his wife, Rakshanda, in the holy month of Ramadan and said:

“Bada unbelievable lagta tha ki 30 din koi aaisa kaise kar sakta hai. Aur ab toh mere ghar mei hi hota hai. Ab unkey saath, kabhi kabhi mujhse bhi nahi raha jaata ki mai bhi nahi ho pata ki vo na kha rahe ho aur mai kha lu toh mere saath bhi aaisa ho jaata hai, ki mai bhi rakh leta hu saath mei. Aap jo karne lago aur jo mann se karne lago, pyaar aur faith ke saath sab ho jaata hai."

Rakshanda Khan and Sachin Tyagi never gave up and stood with each other despite the number of hurdles in their relationship. Their commitment towards each other has reinstated our faith in love.
