However, several people aren't aware of her iconic interview, which she had given many years ago to a leading magazine. In which, she had made some rare confessions about the entertainment industry and many top celebrities. Other than it, it was her revealtions about her personal life that had led all the headlines at that time and had given her career that much-needed push towards sucess and fame. In 2007, Rakhi Sawant led all the headlines with her sizzling pictures and controversial remarks on a lot of debatable issues that were ongoing at that time in Bollywood. Her popularity had sky-rocketed all of a sudden, when her candid interview with television magazine, GR8! had made its way out in public. The actress had made a lot of shocking revelations about her family, childhood, and it was her struggle story that had also garnered some respect and love for the fearless actress. One of the biggest highlights of her interview was her revelation that she had worked as a waitress at the businessman, Anil Ambani's wedding with popular actress, Tina Munim, in 1991. She said, "When I was around 10 years of age I was working for a caterer to earn daily wages of 50 rupees and I have served food at Tina Ambani's wedding." Going further in her interview, an emotional Rakhi Sawant had also talked about her childhood days and how she and her whole family had used to live in a chawl system in Mumbai. Reflecting on the same, she had said, "In a chawl system parents don't allow a girl to go outside and play but when it comes to earning money they allow her to go ahead and do anything. That time they forget the shame and humour to the family." Rakhi had also added that she had suffered a lot during her childhood days and didn't want to go back there in her wildest dreams. She had added, "I still try to find my childhood somewhere… like a kid I love to eat popcorn, and watch films which is so sad. All these little things I missed doing earlier. Even if someone gives me diamonds to go back to my childhood, I won't!"
Rakhi Sawant had also talked about her mother and had stated that her mom's only motive in life was to see her earning some bucks for herself and the family, she had always encouraged her towards work. Rakhi had said, "I cry a lot since childhood and ask God why did you give me such a family who tortures women and gives freedom to men only? My mother's only motto in life was to make me earn money." Giving a deeper insight in the life of a girl child in a chawl system, Rakhi had said, "In a chawl system parents don't allow a girl to go outside and play, but when it comes to earning money they allow her to go ahead and do anything. That time they forget the shame and humour to the family." There's no doubt that Rakhi had made a name for herself in the entertainment industry after a lot of struggle and hard work, for that she deserves all the respect in this world.
