Rajkummar Rao's Wife, Patralekhaa Recalls Their Only Breakup, Says She Was Petrified Of Him At First

Rajkummar Rao is basking in the success of his most recent release, Stree 2, which stars Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurrana in main roles. The Amar Kaushik film has grossed over Rs. 560 crore worldwide and has broken several box-office records. Apart from his professional front, Rajkummar's love life has, time and again, caught the attention of his fans.

Patralekhaa talks about her first meeting with Rajkummar Rao

Recently, the 39-year-old actor's wife, Patralekhaa, opened up about their love story and shared several well-kept secrets of their more than a decade-long courtship. For the unversed, Rajkummar and Patralekhaa started dating in 2010, and after 11 years of their relationship, the duo hopped onto their forever journey in November 2021. While speaking to Galatta India, Patralekhaa shared that she was initially petrified of Rajkummar Rao.

Revealing the reason behind the same, Patralekhaa shared that she had just seen Rajkummar's debut film, LSD: Love Sex, Aur Dhokha, and was petrified of his character in the movie. Further, the actress shared that one of her friends was shooting a music video with Rajkummar and had called her to take part in it. While she agreed to it, later, when she found out that Rajkummar was going to be a part of it, she became a bit sceptical. Sharing the incident, Patralekhaa said:

"I had just seen LSD and I was petrified of him. I was genuinely freaking petrified and I still remember his name in the movie, Adarsh, and I was like Ruksana I can't come, I'm super scared."

Patralekhaa shared that she insisted that her sister should tag along with her and Rajkummar to the shoot. During their journey, the latter asked the actress about her profession, and she revealed that she was featured in a particular advertisement. Sharing how there was a shift in him after hearing about her professional front, Patralekhaa mentioned that later, when she got into a relationship with Rajkummar, he had told her that after watching the advertisement, he wanted to marry the girl in it, not knowing it was Patralekhaa.

Further, in the same conversation, Patralekhaa mentioned that she started dating Rajkummar sometime in 2010 and fell for him due to his dedication to his craft. She also shared that she wanted to learn acting from him and was inspired by his love for the craft. Meanwhile, she disclosed that the duo broke up for 5-6 days during their 11-year-long relationship. Revealing how they decided never to take their relationship so lightly, Patralekhaa said:

"I think only once, for like 5-6 days, not even 5-6, 3-4 days. The thing with Raj and me is or was after that breakup, we kind of told each other that let's not do this. It's not making you happy or me happy, plus let's not take it that lightly ki aaj break up bol diya toh break up ho gaya, a relationship cannot be that frivolous."

Meanwhile, Patralekhaa also talked about the moment during their wedding, which was later revealed in their wedding video, when Rajkummar asked her to apply sindoor to him as well. The actress shared that she was in shock and added that they didn't know that the moment would go viral on the internet. Moreover, during the same conversation, Patralekhaa revealed that she tolerates Rajkummar's cleanliness, and she likes the fact that her husband is deeply spiritual.
