"Because I was bound by contract, I couldn't do anything else either. As soon as this chapter ended, I did Sach Ka Saamna."
In the same interview, Rajeev said he doesn't know why the film was cancelled. Vibhu Puri, who was supposed to direct the film, shared the news with him and asked him to move on with other work. However, he believes that Bhansali had some reason for scrapping the film and didn't do it intentionally. Rajeev said:
"It's not like he said that he will keep me around for a year and ruin my career. I'm sure he didn't have a vested interest, it wasn't deliberate. It could've been funding, or any other reason, but he didn't have an answer."

He said that he intended to do meaningful projects after his debut film, Aamir. If things didn't work out, he was ready to move on. However, there was only one issue, and that was how he was kept in the dark about that situation. Despite this, the actor has no complaints and was unaffected by it.
