Anupamaa's Rajat Shahi REACTS To Old 'Rahi', Alisha's Claims Of Her Abrupt Exist From The Show

Anupamaa is one of the much-loved television soaps that has been winning hearts and keeping the viewers glued to their seats. While the show is much appreciated, the way some of the actors left the show, caused a stir around, and it was speculated that it was their tiff with Rupali Ganguly that was the reason for their quit. Some of the actors who left the show included Sudhanshu Pandey, Madalsa Sharma, Gaurav Khanna, Paras Kalnawat, Nidhi Shah, and many more. Last December also witnessed a replacement on the show, which was of Anupamaa's daughter, 'Rahi'.

The role of 'Rahi' was earlier being played by Alisha Parveen, and Adrija Roy later replaced her. Alisha later revealed that her quit from the show was abrupt, and she wasn't informed about the same by the makers until the last minute. Such a comment actually ended up raising eyebrows. Now, Rajan Shahi broke his silence about Alisha's comments.

While talking to Vickey Lalwani, Rajan said that some things were good on Alisha's part, but the stage performances were seemingly less appealing. Rajan further stated that Alisha was informed about her role being incorporated into a love story, and the makers tried their level best to achieve that, but the energy was not in matching terms with the actress. Rajan can be quoted as saying:

"Certain things were very good about the said actor (Alisha Parveen) when there was one sort of a performance but there were stages of performances. Ultimately, it was a love story, which she had been told. Hum apni taraf se poori effort karenge but that energy level was not there to match that part with the love story that was happening."

Rajan Shahi says Alisha Parveen's quit from Anupamaa was not abrupt

Going further in the interview, Rajan Shahi shared that it was not an abrupt call from Alisha Parveen to quit the show. He said that he had been getting a lot of complaints from the creative team as well as from the channel. He mentioned that Alisha's performance was not up to the mark, wherein she was expected to perform with emotional ups and downs. He also stated that there had been several meetings, about the same with Alisha. He said:

"Ek performance jahan high energy thi, cheekha chilli thi, emotions correct tha, aap talent ko ek baar do baar chaar baar meetings huyi, it was not an abrupt call. The channel was also seeing and there was a lot of disappointment from their side that it (the performance) was not up to the mark."

In the same interview, Rajan said that he has informed Alisha about her quitting the show, Anupamaa. Rajan revealed informing the actress about the director's displeasure over her performance, a month before she left the show. Rajan shared that they met at an award function and informed Alisha about the same, but whatever she said was out of self-defence and was childish. Rajan mentioned that they were not very angry with Alisha's allegations, as they also had to think about the future. Rajan Shahi can be quoted as saying:

"Vo ek bachkaani baatein thi, vo ek self-defense tha, vo apna justify karne vali baat thi. Hum zyada ghuse nahi kyunki humein bhi next sochna hai."

It was in December 2024, when Alisha took to her IG handle and informed her fans about her quitting the show, Anupamaa. Later, in an interview with India Forums, Alisha said that it was a heartbreaking moment for her, and she didn't understand what happened as everyone loved her character and she worked hard for the same. She further mentioned it left her shocked when the decision came at the last minute without any notice. She recalled crying in front of Rajan Shahi and him saying that they wouldn't be able to do anything, and it was the channel's decision.
