'1 Petrol Pump, 210 Bigah Of Land, Worth Rs. 15 Crore' Were Given To Groom During 'Bhaat' Ceremony

Indian weddings are an amalgamation of age-old rituals, modern ceremonies and a lot of fun. As soon as a baby is born, the family starts saving for their big day, and they do not even think twice about the money during the wedding festivities. Indian weddings are famous for their grandeur. While the dahej pratha is being abolished, there is Bhaat ceremony in Marwaris, which is all about mama (maternal uncle) happily showering love and gifts to his niece and nephews. Recently, in a Bhaat ceremony, a mama gave out Rs. 15 crores as sagan and huge acres of land. Read on to know more! 

The maternal uncle gifts the groom a huge acre of land, and sagan

Recently, a video went viral, wherein we spotted the extraordinary love of mama for his niece as he showers her with extraordinary gifts, leaving behind Ambanis and Adanis. The video gained a lot of traction due to the gifts given to the groom's side by the bride's side. The video has received over 2.5 million likes, and people are in shock seeing the jaw-dropping gifts. 

In the footage, during the Bhaat ceremony, the bride and the groom were sitting, and they were surrounded by their families, friends and relatives in attendance. Over a mic, a man was announcing the gifts given to the groom by the bride's side of the family. It included three kilograms of silver, a petrol pump and 210 bighas of land. All these expensive gifts were worth Rs. 15.65 crore. 

What is a Bhaat ceremony?

In Marwari weddings, a Bhaat ceremony is performed on the day of the wedding. During this ceremony, all eyes are on the mamas, who shower love and blessings on their nieces and nephews and shower them with gifts. In this ceremony, the bride's mother formally invites the maternal uncle to the wedding.

Netizens' react to expensive wedding gifts given during the Bhaat ceremony

The video was shared by Sonu Ajmer, and people gave mixed reactions. One user called it dowry, and wrote, "Wow!!!!! Dowry ko kitna proudly aur openly celebrate kiya ja raha hai yaar." Another one commented, "Wait Whatt Ek Petrol Pump." A third user penned, "Itna toh Mukesh Ambani ne nahi dia hoga isha ambani ko."

Someone pointed out how a man should not take these expensive gifts and wrote, "Chalo agar koi mama de bhi raha hai khule dil se to ladke mai to sharam honi chahiye ki vo bheekhmange ki tarah na le sabkuch." Another one wrote, "Baap re ...as a beti main khud saadi se mna kar deti..main kabhi apne mata pita ko itne paise ni dene deti."
