After 2022, R Praggnanandhaa was the first Indian to play in The FIDE Chess World Cup 2023. However, he couldn't break his desired record. After the first two matches were drawn, it came along with a tie-breaker match. Moreover, the 18-year-old talented player was defeated after playing for 25 minutes and playing 47 extraordinary moves. In the first portion, Praggnanandhaa took to the game to storm and played brilliantly, but in the end, it was Magnus Carlsen who fought back and bagged the crown of the champion.
It was back in February 2022 when R Praggnanandha defeated Magnus Carlsen in an online rapid chess tournament. There's no denying the fact that the young player surely left everyone's heart fluttering with immense joy after defeating the world champion.
