Bollywood actor, R Madhavan has turned 55 on June 1, 2025. He has always been known for his chocolate boy, puppy eyes look and for his acting chops. There was a time when R Madhavan took a dig at Shah Rukh Khan, known as the wittiest megastar of India. Madhavan also politely slammed Saif Ali Khan at an award function. Madhavan has been one of the few stars who has received pan-India success and has worked in different languages. Here's what happened at an award show, where Madhavan gave an intelligent reply to both the Khans.
Megastar, Shah Rukh Khan is known for his ace hosting skills and is known to roast the big stars of the Hindi film industry. There was a time when he and Saif Ali Khan even tried their best to roast Maddy, but his response had melted the hearts of all. SRK and Saif tried cracking a joke on Madhavan and did not know that the actor would be the one having the last laugh. SRK and Saif started to make some very funny assumptions related to what 'R' meant in R. Madhavan. King Khan thought it was 'Rated', 'Real'. The actor gently said:
"It is “Ranganathan. My surname is Ranganathan."
A video had gone viral where Shah Rukh Khan had requested R Madhavan to teach him a few lines in Tamil. Saif, on the other side, was seen remembering a romantic dialogue from his hit movie, Love Aaj Kal. The actor noted that in Hindi love stories, the name of the woman always comes first. He gave examples of Romeo and Juliet, Heer Ranjha, Laila Majnu. Saif then requested Maddy to translate a few lines in the Tamil language and also teach the actor as well as Shah Rukh Khan.
Madhavan went ahead and did the same. It became a learning field for both Saif and Shah Rukh. Sadly, they could not even tell a single word of the dialogue that Madhavan uttered in Tamil. The audiences that had Lara Dutta, AR Rahman, and Sridevi could not stop laughing. It was at the end of the video that Shah Rukh told R Madhavan:
"Everybody has to insult us tonight. Would like to insult us in Tamil?” It seemed SRK didn’t have to ask Madhavan twice. “Go away, you fools."

Madhavan is known to have an intelligent sense of humour. Even when R Madhavan politely told the Khans what 'R' stood for in his name, they laughed it off in the right way. Speaking of Madhavan, it was in the 1990s when he began his journey in the TV industry. He got a lot of fame with his Tamil debut movie, Alaipayuthey (2000) which gave him overnight success. The actor has done diverse roles in his professional front and is known for his movies like Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein (2001), 3 Idiots (2009), Vikram Vedha (2017), and Rocketry: The Nambi Effect (2022), to name a few.
Team BollywoodShaadis wishes R Madhavan a very happy birthday!
