Priyanka Chopra Jonas Didn't Want Her 'Serious' Affair To Make Headlines, 'Very Personal To Her'

Priyanka Chopra Jonas is one of the most prolific and versatile actresses the Bollywood industry has ever seen. She also ventured into Hollywood, delivering some impressive performances in mainstream movies. Besides the professional sphere, her family life is also sorted with a loving husband and a sweet baby girl. Her relationship with American singer Nick Jonas often makes headlines; however, once, Priyanka's rumoured romance with a top star was also widely reported.

Recently, film director, Prahlad Kakkar, best known for his works in Ok Jaanu (2017) and Guzaarish (2010), shared some insights into the same. In his recent conversation with Vickey Lalwani, he mentioned how the dating speculations affected Priyanka and how she dealt with them. He lauded her for maintaining her dignity and not commenting on the same. He also revealed whether the rumours had any truth to them.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas sets boundaries to maintain her dignity

Prahlad Kakkar stated that Priyanka Chopra Jonas is someone who considers dignity as a top priority. He appreciated her 'ambitious' and 'focused' nature. According to Prahlad, there's a certain line of privacy which Priyanka never lets anyone cross to preserve her self-worth. Priyanka is as serious about upholding her personal boundaries as she is about work. Prahlad called her a 'great person to work with' before shedding light on her long-speculated affair with an industry colleague. He said:

"Priyanka is a doll; she's a great person to work with. She's very ambitious, she's very single-minded, she's very focused. And she has a certain sense of dignity which she will not allow people to enter."

The Indian director mentioned that Priyanka was indeed in a relationship with the celebrity everybody linked her with. Prahlad recalled how it was written about extensively, and everybody, including the media and fans, commented on it. It was only the concerned couple who chose not to present any statement regarding the affair. Prahlad also said that Priyanka's much-talked-about relationship was not frivolous; instead, it was a 'serious' one. As per him, she would have addressed the rumours and laughed about it; it wasn't something 'very personal to her.' He shared:

"So, her whole, this whole so-called affair, she never made a comment on it. Everybody else was commenting. She never said anything. She held her dignity. And if it was a frivolous relationship, she would have laughed. Obviously, it was serious. So, it was very personal to her. She didn't want it to be written about, she didn't want to be talked about."

Thus, according to Prahlad Kakkar's account, Priyanka wanted that part of her life to be out of the public reach. She was not okay with it being written about and therefore neither accepted nor denied the rumours. Although the director took no names, everybody is aware that the man Priyanka was linked with for years is Shah Rukh Khan. Popular theory suggested that their reel romance in Don and Don 2 gradually turned real. However, it's all in the past, and now, Priyanka is happily married to Nico Jonas, and Shah Rukh Khan has a loving wife, Gauri Khan.
