Priyanka Chopra revealed the story behind the 8-carat diamond ring gifted by her parents

Now, an old video of Priyanka is doing the rounds in which the actress spoke about the 8-carat diamond ring that her parents gifted on her 28th birthday. The video is from the time when Priyanka appeared on actor, Anupam Kher’s chat show, The Anupam Kher Show and spoke about the story of her first diamond ring. Elaborating on the same, she said:

“Both my mom and my dad, unhone mujhe a ring present ki 8 carat diamond. To I was very excited, obviously press ne likha kisi ladke ne di hai ya engagement ring hai as usual. But they were disappointed when I told them that my father gave me the ring. Unka logic tha ki agar tumhara dad tumko itni badi ring de sakta hai, to jo banda tumhari Zindagi me aaye, usko isko beat karna padega.”

As soon the video made its way on social media, netizens reacted to Priyanka’s video and trolled the actress for comparing her father with the man she would marry and giving unnecessary burden to the young man. One of the users wrote, “Dad took 50 years to gave a ring and he is expecting 25 years old boy to do the same.”

Priyanka Chopra is married to Nick Jonas and their love story is straight out of a fairytale. It was in the year 2016 when Nick Jonas sent a direct message to Priyanka Chopra on Twitter, and she asked him to send her a text instead, and the duo exchanged numbers with each other. Before meeting at the Met Gala 2017, Nick and Priyanka had met each other at the Vanity Fair Oscar’s after-party in 2017.

By the end of the after-party, Nick and Priyanka were head-over-heels in love with each other. It was in August 2018 when Priyanka announced the news of being ‘taken’ by posting a picture from her roka ceremony. The couple got married on December 1-2, 2018, at Umaid Bhawan Palace as per both Christian and Hindu rituals. Their wedding was not less than any festival as it had helped the Umaid Bhawan Palace to cover their three months' revenue.

In an interview with the Harper Bazaar, Priyanka talked about the reason for dating Nick. She had revealed that it was his music video, Close, which had made her fall in love with him. Talking about the same, she said:

"My life has always been pretty musical, and now with Nick, it's completely musical. I decided to date him after seeing the video for 'Close,' where his shirt comes off. So that song is my favourite."
