Priyanka Chopra Reveals She Had 'Tough Pregnancies', Chose Surrogacy For A Reason, 'Had Tough Time'

Priyanka Chopra faced a lot of backlash when she announced the arrival of her daughter via surrogacy. Her daughter was premature, yet many judged Priyanka for choosing to opt for surrogacy rather than having a normal pregnancy. After many years, Priyanka finally chose to address all the judgements on why she didn't chose to opt for natural pregnancy. 

Priyanka Chopra revealed why she opted for surrogacy

People might think that Priyanka Chopra had it all easy with a fairytale wedding with a prince from across the seven seas. But in reality, she had her own share of struggle. The gorgeousness had faced a tough time to conceive naturally and it was the reason she opted for surrogacy. She faced judgements for her choice. Priyanka has, time and again, revealed that her life revolved around the pinky finger of her four year old daughter. And it is the reason they keep her away fro the media glares. 

Priyanka shared that her daughter was pretterm baby who arrived at 27 weeks. She often called her miracle baby. In a recent interview with Marie Claire, Priyanka revealed that Malti spents months in NICU. She also talked about the reason why she chose to embrace surrogacy. She shared that she wanted to have a child as she had really tough time with pergnancies. Priyanka called her daughter a miracle child, and said:

"Our daughter was very coveted and very desired because I had a really tough time with pregnancies. She’s my miracle baby, so everything just stopped when she was born."

Priyanka Chopra futher mention that it was extremely difficult for her to stay away from her daughter due to the constant preemie mom fear. She called her daughter the greatst gift of her life and all her priorities have changed since her arrival. She wants to be right by her side even when she is travelling in different countries. 

In an interview with Vogue in 2023, Priyanka shared that she had medical complications and it was a necessary step as she had medical complications. She revelaed that her surrogate was generous and kind to take care of her precious gift for six months. Priyanka also slammed those who passed judgement on her for not choosing a natural birth and stated that she do not want to share her medical history in public. She was quoted as saying:

"I had medical complications. This was a necessary step, and I’m so grateful I was in a position where I could do this. Our surrogate was so generous, kind, lovely and funny, and she took care of this precious gift for us for six months. I was in the OR [operating room] when she came out. She was so small, smaller than my hand. We spent every single day with her on my chest, on my husband’s chest. I didn’t know if she would make it or not. You don’t know me. You don’t know what I’ve been through. And just because I don’t want to make my medical history, or my daughter’s, public doesn’t give you the right to make up whatever the reasons were."
