Sunjay Kapur's Wife, Priya Called Him 'Misunderstood', Admired His Strength After Divorce And Loss

Sunjay Kapur, recently passed away at the age of 53 while playing Polo in London. His sudden demise has left his family members and loved ones in shock, especially those who witnessed him deal with the ups and downs in his life. Whether it was his ugly divorce with his ex-wife, Karisma Kapoor or taking charge of his father's business after his father's death, Sunjay's life was filled with challenges. Yet, he dealt with all of them to rebuild his personal and professional life. As final tributes are pouring in for him, an old interview of his wife, Priya surfaced on the internet where she talked about Sunjay's difficult journey.

Priya Sachdev shared how Sunjay Kapur dealt with his divorce and the loss of his father 

Priya Sachdev met and fell in love with Sunjay Kapur when he was going through a turbulent time in 2015. She talked about the same in an old interview with a YouTube channel, Kin and Kindness. Priya explained that when she decided to be with Sunjay, he had just lost his father, Surinder Kapur, who was one of the most popular industrialists in the auto components sector. Consequently, all the responsibility of the business fell on him while he was alone in Germany. So, she used to discuss some business ideas with him and so would he. Recalling the same, Priya said:

"I do help him run the family office, though and I have taken a lot of investment decisions with him."

Speaking about Sunjay's emotional turmoil, Priya mentioned that he was already dealing with his divorce from Karisma Kapoor and the custody battle of his kids, Samaira and Kiaan. when he lost his father. Despite all the obstacles, he managed to turn things around and grew into a successful businessman. Priya also highlighted that while dealing with all these challenges, she had been with, Sunjay which also strengthened their bond. In her words:

"Sunjay's journey has been interesting as a father himself, and then he lost his father, and he had to take over the business and turn it around, and he was going through a divorce at the same time. He has been through so much, and we were together in it, and now we have come out of it."

Priya Sachdev revealed what drew her towards Sunjay Kapur 

In the same conversation, she shared that she was drawn towards Sunjay because she found him endearing, honest and, most importantly, misunderstood by others. According to her, many people didn't see the complete reality behind Sunjay's personality and misjudged him. However, over time, he gained respect in the industry and subsequently continued to take his family legacy toward. Sharing how he had to make tough decisions in the course, she said:

"He has been misunderstood but now he is very much respected in the industry. His father was a legend in his space, and now he is filling his shoes, which makes us all very proud. He's also had to make harsh decisions and choices, and most of them have turned out well."

Priya Sachdev addressed Sunjay Kapur's obsession with Polo 

Priya Sachdev also discussed Sunjay Kapur's obsession with Polo and shared that every year, she and their kids used to move to England with him during the Polo season. The primary purpose of their move was Sunjay's passion for Polo. For those unaware, the late industrialist was a professional Polo player and was playing at Guards Polo Club for his team, Aureus when he passed away.
