Priya Malik Reveals The Reason Behind Her Divorce And Why She Hid The News From Her Parents

Priya Malik rose to fame on the reality show Bigg Boss 9 and appeared in shows such as Savdhaan India, Crime Patrol, Nazar, and more. The actress-turned poet married Delhi-based entrepreneur Karan Bakshi in 2022. After two years of marital bliss, the duo welcomed their son, Zorawar Shahib Singh Bakshi, into their lives. However, before marrying Karan, Priya was married to Bhushan Malik; they got divorced in 2018.

Priya Malik reveals the reason behind her divorce

In an interview with Telly Masala, Priya Malik discussed her divorce from her first husband. The actress revealed that she didn’t tell her parents about getting a divorce and only informed them after it was finalised. According to Priya, she was sure her parents would have stopped her from getting a divorce.

In the same interaction, Priya Malik revealed the reason for her divorce and said it was the best decision she and her ex-husband had made. She also stated that they wanted different things in life and decided to go their separate ways. In her words:

“Wo jo 18-19 saal ki Priya unhe mili thi, wo Priya thi hi nahi. Mai badal chuki thi, mai ek alag insaan ban chuki thi, wo ek alag insaan ban chuke the. Unki Zindagi me alag maqsat the, meri Zindagi me alag maqsat the. As I said, unhe Zindagi se chahiye the wo NRI waali life, Australia me rehna. Mujhe waapis India aana tha.”

When Priya Malik suffered a silent miscarriage

Priya is currently a proud mom of a baby boy whom she and her husband have named Zorawar Sahib Singh Bakshi. However, she suffered a silent miscarriage. During Kommune's Spoken Fest, Priya Malik shared the story about her silent miscarriage and revealed she had an unplanned pregnancy. Priya also revealed that she was very happy when she first heard her baby's faint heartbeat. 

But it was during the sonography test that she found out that the baby had passed away, and there was no heartbeat. Priya revealed that she had a silent miscarriage, wherein there were no signs, no warnings, but the baby passed away. Recalling the traumatic moment, Priya shared that she felt her body had failed, and she had a lot of questions but didn't know how to process the feelings.
