Pratik Gandhi's Story: Phule Controversy, Quit Rs 25 Lakh Job, Worked For Ambani, Wife's Brain Tumor

Pratik Gandhi made his acting debut in the English-language film, Yours Emotionally, which was released in 2006. However, his big break came in 2007, when he introduced himself to Bollywood with his work in the film, 68 Pages. In the following years, he worked in a series of Gujarati films and made his mark in Dhollywood. In 2018, he appeared in the film, Loveyatri, which opened many doors for him.

In the same year, Pratik Gandhi was also seen in Nitin Kakkar's film, Mitron. However, it was the year 2020 when his acting career took a giant leap after he was shortlisted by the critically acclaimed filmmaker, Harshad Mehta for his web series, Scam 1992, and the rest is history. Courtesy of his memorable work in Scam 1992, Pratik received a lot of film offers in the following years.

Decoding Pratik Gandhi's acting career: From Dhollywood to Bollywood and OTT success

Some of Pratik Gandhi's most memorable work to date include Dhoom Dhaam, Madgaon Express, Agni, The Great Indian Murder, Modern Love Mumbai, Ghamasaan, Do Aur Do Pyar, Vitthal Teedi, Love Ni Bhavai, Ventilator, Bey Yaar, and many more. Fast forward to 2025, and Pratik is currently leading all the headlines for portraying the character of 'Jyotirao Phule' in his biographical drama titled Phule. The movie landed in controversy after the Brahmin community raised some objections.

The film's release has been delayed due to the controversy, but one thing is sure that Pratik Gandhi has proved his range as an actor by playing 'Jyotirao Phule'. Talking about Pratik's upcoming projects, he will be next seen in the film, Who Ladki Hain Kahaan? and web shows, Saare Jahan Se Accha and For Your Eyes Only. Slowly and steadily, Pratik is getting good scripts, and if it continues like this, he will be in a very promising position in the film industry.

Pratik Gandhi's success story: Left a Rs. 25 lakh per annum package job to become an actor in Bollywood

Pratik Gandhi completed his schooling from Surat's Pravrutti Vidyalaya. For graduation, he took admission to the North Maharashtra University and pursued a degree in industrial engineering. After obtaining the degree, Pratik joined the National Productivity Council in Satara. Not everyone is aware of the fact that Pratik has also worked for Indian billionaire, Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Infrastructure.

In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Pratik revealed that in 2016, he quit his high-paying corporate job, which came with a package of Rs. 25 lakhs per annum. After leaving his high-paying job, he and his family suffered a major financial crunch because it was at that moment when his father was diagnosed with cancer. He said:

"When I resigned in 2016, just a few weeks ahead of Wrong Side Raju's release, my package was Rs. 25 lakh CTC/annum. I left it thinking I don't know what will happen, but whatever happens, we will see. Then my dad's cancer treatment was also going on, we also had a young child at home. But thought something will work out somehow."

Pratik Gandhi's wife, Bhamini Oza was diagnosed with a brain tumor and lost many projects

Apart from leaving his high-paying job to become an actor, facing a financial crunch, father's battle with cancer, Pratik Gandhi faced another major heartbreak when his wife, Bhamini Oza, was diagnosed with a brain tumour. It was in 2012-13 when Bhamini's battle with a brain tumor started, due to which she lost the lead role in the famous TV show, Ek Doosre Se Karte Hain Pyaar Hum.

During this time, Pratik stood like a pillar of immense support to his wife, who helped Bhamini recover from the severe health problem. After the surgery, Bhamini recovered from it and won the battle against a brain tumor. Regarding Pratik Gandhi's personal life, he married the love of his life, Bhamini Oza, in 2009 and the couple welcomed a baby girl into their family in 2014. We hope Pratik continues to make his mark in Bollywood with all the exciting projects that he has been working on.
