Prateik Babbar's Wife Breaks Silence On 'Not Calling Raj Babar' To Wedding: 'He Was Never There..'

Prateik Babbar's second wedding with Priya Banerjee made a lot of buzz after the former's family openly expressed displeasure at not being invited to their celebration. A lot was out in the media, but Prateik and Priya never really reacted to it. They tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at Prateik Babbar's late mother, Smita Patil's first home in Mumbai. Recently, Priya spoke for the first time about all the clamour that took place while she was getting married to Prateik Babbar from Raj Babbar's family.

Prateik Babbar and Priya Babbar talked about not inviting his father, Raj Babbar and family to their wedding

In an interview with The Times Of India, when Prateik Babbar was questioned if not inviting his father, Raj Babbar and his family to his second wedding would change their equation, it was Priya who gave a prompt reply. Without mincing her words, Priya clearly stated that there was nothing to change. She further clarified that the family was never there, and the 'person (Raj Babbar) was never there in his life. She said:

"There is nothing to change. There was never anything there. So, I'm confused when people comment, ‘You did this to somebody’. But no, that family was never there, that person (hinting at Raj Babbar) was never there in his life. So, I'm not sure why that question is coming up now, 30 years later."

Prateik Babbar was even questioned about his earlier statement about 'mending his ways' with the family. The actor shared that he cannot talk about this right now as it is a complication. Within seconds, Priya jumped in, taking his side and tried to explain the things he had felt since he lost his mother at two weeks old. She made sharp comments about trollers and family members, passing rude comments that there had been a lot Prateik had been through. 

Prateik reacted to allegations made on Priya to be the reason behind his rift with his father

During the same interview, Prateik revealed that he was affected when his wife, Priya, was dragged into the controversy and was accused of being the reason behind his rift with the Babbar family. However, Priya quickly added that she was unaffected by everything as it was nothing new, and every time something like this happened, a woman was blamed.

As soon as Prateik Babbar's second wedding photos and videos surfaced on the internet, a roast video by his step-brother, Arya Babbar, also made rounds. The stand-up comedian was seen taking a nasty dig at his brother's second wedding. He trolled him by stating that their father, Raj Babbar, was married twice, and his sister, Juhi Babbar, also got married twice.

Not only this, Arya even included Prateik Babbar, who also got married for the second time. Jokingly, he added that his dog also has two girlfriends. Further, he expressed how he also wants to get married again, but he is scared of the complications of divorce.
