Who Is Prateik Babbar's Would Be Wife, Priya Banerjee? Debut In Aishwarya Rai's 'Jazbaa' And More

Raj Babbar and late Smita Patil's son, Prateik Babbar has found love for the third time. He is all set to get married to actress, Priya Banerjee on Valentine's Day, 2025 that is on February 14, 2025. Reportedly the couple will have an intimate wedding at Prateik's Bandra home in front of their family and closest friends. Reportedly, the couple got engaged in November 2023.

Who is Prateik Babbar's would-be-wife, Priya Banerjee?

Priya was born on April 16, 1990, and is from Canada, having a Bengali background. She gained fame when she became a participant in Miss World Canada back in 2011 and then made a mark in the Indian movie industry. It was in 2013 when Priya made her Telugu debut with the movie, Kiss. She was teamed opposite South star, Adivi Sesh. She was then seen in Joru back in 2014 next to Sundeep Kishan and Raashii Khanna. Priya then forayed into the Hindi film domain and made her Bollywood debut in Sanjay Gupta's Jazbaa.

Priya, in Jazbaa had essayed the role of 'Sia'. She had tried her hands in the Telugu and Tamil domains. The way she bagged Jazbaa was interesting. An insider close to the actress once told Screen in an interview that Sanjay Gupta was still in the process of zeroing in on a girl for an integral part of the film. The film’s casting director was yet to cast someone, when one day, someone tagged him on Twitter with a video of the actress. The source said:

"Since sir had some free time on hand, he without any inkling of the video’s content or intention to cast her – saw it and was immediately hooked."

Sanjay Gupta had found Priya superb in the video and asked his casting director to find the girl. Later, when they found she did not sign any other Hindi film, they auditioned her, and she was impressive there.  

Prateik Babbar and Priya Banerjee's love story

Prateik dated Amy Jackson, then married Sanya Sagar, whom he divorced in 2020 and then found love in Priya. A source close to them told Pinkvilla that they had known each other for years and had met through a common friend from the TV world. Prateik had also told his friends and family about his lady love and always kept their relationship low-profile. This was because the actor, a few years back, was undergoing his divorce process with Sanya.

When Priya Banerjee shared Prateik Babbar's past did not matter to her

Priya, in an interview with the ETimes, shared if Prateik's relationship with Amy and Sanya worried her. She said his past did not matter as everyone has one, and some people have the beauty of hiding it. She said:

"The fact that he has never hidden it, that’s respectful. I, too, have a past. I was a different person than I am now. So, I am nobody to sit here and judge him for his past. Also, our relationship isn’t a clichéd one. We are great buddies, and we talk about anything and everything with each other. It also helps that he has such a lovely big family because I am all about family, food, and celebrations!”
