What Happened To POORSTACY In His Final Moments? Cops Say His Child And A Woman Were Beside Him

The death of Florida rapper, Carlito Milfort a.k.a POORSTACY, has turned into one of the most unsettling and confusing death mysteries in recent months. Despite being initially claimed a 'medical emergency', his death has opened into a disturbing chain of mystery, leaving his fans shocked. Amid the ongoing investigation, police have released new details about the rapper's family disputes and their findings. Yet, it all comes down to one question: What really happened inside that Boca Raton hotel room?

POORSTACY's baby mama has been arrested hours after his death 

According to an affidavit obtained by Boca Raton Police, TMZ reported that POORSTACY's baby mama, Nicole Grikstas, has been taken into custody just hours after his demise on November 29, 2025. She has been charged with child neglect without great bodily harm. The police have alleged that POORSTACY and Nicole had consumed heavy drugs in the presence of their young child, a few days before the rapper's untimely demise. 

Nicole told the officers that she and Poorstacy checked into the motel a week early with their toddler. During the extra time, they allegedly consumed an illicit substance in the presence of their kid inside the room. According to the investigators, she admitted that she took some of those around 3:00 am the same night. The rapper passed away. At the same time, she did not attempt to remove their child despite major fights between him and POORSTACY. 

POORSTACY's child was present when he was shot to death 

Nicole Grikstas further shared that the situation escalated after POORSTACY accused her of hiding his drugs. She alleged that he forcibly tried to remove her clothes to check for them and struck her multiple times. According to the affidavit, POORSTACY later pulled out a handgun and alternatively pointed at himself and her for nearly an hour. 

Cops stated that they watched the event unfold helplessly, and eventually, he turned it towards himself. Police later found drugs, children's toys, food, and loaded arms scattered inside their motel room. A source close to the rapper's family told TMZ that Nicole's relatives currently have custody of the child.

Why does POORSTACY's death continue to remain a mystery?

Although authorities have clarified that POORSTACY died by suicide, his family disagrees with the claim. They believe that the details do not add up, and there has been possible foul play in the case. According to initial reports from the hotel, there was a 'medical emergency' before the rapper died. However, police did not immediately share the specifics of the case, which led everyone to believe that the reality was more complicated. Until now, the investigators have yet to release POORSTACY's toxicology results and additional evidence.

The rapper rose to fame with his initial releases, such as I Don't Care and worked with major artists including Travis Barker, Iann Dior, and Oli Sykes of Bring Me the Horizon. He even appeared on the Grammy-nominated soundtrack for Bill & Ted Face the Music. POORSTACY's last release, Nothing Belongs to You, debuted in July 2025. Yet, behind his music, the rapper struggled with controversies and legal issues. Back in 2023, he was charged with battery and child neglect after a domestic violence incident involving a child and a woman. Although it is not confirmed whether she was Nicole or not.
