Pokemon is one of the most loved media franchises. The Japanese media franchise consists of video games, animated series, trading card games and films. However, another notable event in the franchise is their annual championship, and every dedicated Pokemon fan is aware that the Pokemon World Championship is the hub of notable announcements by the mother company, Pokemon Co. Well, the 2025 championship was no different.
The Pokemon World Championship 2025 is officially over. However, it was concluded with several details about the upcoming titles, events and projects. Pokemon Co. took the stand and shared some details about what's next in the Pokemon-verse. Pokemon Legends: Z-A Battle Club is all set for its newest Link Battle entrants. According to the company, up to four players can take part in battles online where they attempt to defeat as many of each other's Pokemon as they can within the time limit. The event will be a spectacular opportunity for fans to use a variety of moves and Mega Evolutions.
Additionally, Pokemon Co. has also revealed that the participants will band together in a bigger way than ever before to take on Gigantamax Battles and Eternamax Eternatus. Talking about the Pokemon GO Fest 2025: Max Finale, groups of up to 100 trainers will split into groups of four or fewer. They will be able to join the same battle against a Gigantamax Pokemon or Eternamax Eternatus. The more trainers who join in, the greater the chance of success. According to the company, this change will apply worldwide, and it will remain in effect after the conclusion of the event.
Mega-Evolved Pokemons will also be a part of the upcoming Pokemon Championships. According to Pokemon Co. they will be featured in the first set of regulations for Ranked Battles Champions. Players will be able to use their respective Omni Ring in the heat of battle to Mega Evolve their Pokémon, including the newly revealed Mega Dragonite featured in Pokemon Legends: Z-A. The events will be a massive opportunity for the Pokemon fans, so be sure to get all the practice you can, because Pokemon Champions will be used for VGC at Worlds 2026.
Pokemon Co. further revealed that Empoleon will join the Pokemon UNITE fray on September 19, 2025. They also shared that Dhelmise and Vaporeon will also be joining the group at a later date. According to the reports, Groudon will be appearing in the Theia Sky Ruins starting on September 4, 2025.

Additionally, Mega Altaria, the ghastly Mega Gyarados, and Mega Blaziken will also make their Pokemon TCG Pocket debut as powerful Mega Evolution Pokemon ex in the upcoming events. Mega Charizard X will be returning to the Pokemon TCG Pocket, this time as a powerful Mega Evolution Pokemon ex. The company also released a video for fans to experience a glimpse of the cool visuals of the Flame Pokemon in battle, in addition to a sneak peek at the Mega attack rare Mega Charizard X ex, Mega Gardevoir ex, and Mega Lucario ex. The company has also teased a new Mega Evolution Pokemon ex coming to the Pokemon TCG in 2026, including a reveal of the Mega Dragonite ex.
