Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi is currently shattered by the saddening demise of his beloved mother, Heeraben Modi, who left for her heavenly abode on December 30, 2022. Heeraben Modi was 100 years old when she passed away after being hospitalised for two days at UN Mehta hospital in Ahmedabad, The Prime Minister was extremely close to his mother, and time and again, he has expressed his love for her.
PM Modi has reached Gujarat to perform his mother, Heeraben Modi's last rites. The heart-wrenching visuals of the same are doing rounds on the internet, and the doting son was seen bidding adieu to his beloved mother. After paying his last respects to his mother, Heeraben Modi at her Gandhinagar residence, PM Modi was seen carrying the mortal remains to the crematorium. He was seen leading the procession to Muktidham crematorium in a devastated state.

Heeraben Modi's demise is a huge loss for the Modi family, and condolences are pouring in as people are praying for them in this difficult time. Several celebrities penned their heartfelt tributes for the departed soul on social media. Meanwhile, the Modi family released a statement for their well-wishers, which can be read as:
"We thank everyone for their prayers in these tough times. It is our humble request to everyone to keep the departed soul in their thoughts and continue with their pre-decided schedule and commitments. That would be a befitting tribute to Heeraba."
PM Narendra Modi was expected to visit West Bengal to launch a series of projects, but after hearing the saddening news, he immediately left for Ahmedabad. Moreover, as per the sources, the programmes will go ahead as planned, and the Prime Minister might join them through video conferencing. This is indeed a difficult time for Narendra Modi, and the doting son shared a picture of his mother on his Twitter handle and penned:
“In Maa I have always felt that trinity, which contains the journey of an ascetic, the symbol of a selfless Karmayogi and a life committed to values. When I met her on her 100th birthday, she said one thing - 'Always remember - Work with intelligence, live life with purity'.”
