Once upon a time, men were judged by the content of their character, not their appearance. This is not the case anymore. Today, men face just as much pressure as women to look good. Your looks can impact everything from your job prospects to your love life. Gents, are you paying attention?
You can spend hours in the gym, doing crunches and push ups to develop six packs abs but your body is not the first thing that people notice about you (unless you work on a beach as a lifeguard, that is). The first thing that people notice about you is your face.

Why do I need plastic surgery?
It is a universally accepted truth that while parents might shortlist a potential groom for their daughter based on his educational & professional qualifications, earning potential, family background, reputation, etc ; the first thing that the bride herself would consider would be his good looks (or lack thereof). In fact, the ancient Indian poet and playwright Kalidasa even composed a couplet in his play Meghdoot highlighting just this tendency.
Don’t believe me? Then just pick up the latest romance bestseller and take a look. You will definitely find a mention of a “strong, ruggedly handsome good looks” when the hero is being described.
Even as recently as 10 years ago, a man who was looking to get change his looks via plastic surgery would be directed to the psychiatrist’s office, and not a cosmetic surgery clinic. But plastic surgery among men has recently become more acceptable, thanks to macho actors like Sunil Shetty, Ajay Devgan (or Devgn, if you are astrologically inclined) who have admitting to getting work done.
Grooms today are required to pay just as much attention to the way they look as brides, and plastic surgery is simply a more permanent way of fixing nature’s little flaws. Since plastic surgery for men has gained mainstream acceptance, many men view a wedding as a perfect occasion to finally get the look they have always dreamed of.
What all procedures can I get done?

Whether it is a nose job or a face lift or a full body contouring procedure, grooms are matching brides step for step in this area. In fact, plastic surgeons reveal that they see a 40% rise in patients during the wedding season – male patients, that is. There are many surgeons in India today that specialise in doing male cosmetic surgery.
Procedures for the face are most popular, with most grooms choosing to go the whole hog with rhinoplasty (nose job), rhytidectomy (face lifts) and mentoplasty (chin implants), not to mention chemical peels & Botox. You may be a little surprised to find chin implants on the list of most sought after surgeries, but there is no greater impediment to looking strong and masculine than having a weak or undersized chin. It is usually performed in conjunction with other procedures like a nose job in order to give a balanced structure to the face.
When shortlisting hospitals/ surgeons for the surgery, don’t try too stinting too much on the cost, since you want an experienced surgeon to perform the procedure on you so that you won’t have to come back for revision surgery.
