Following this, in 1981, Robert packed up his van and left for Philadelphia to drop his friend off at his school. When he returned to California, he discovered a letter from the manager of WMMR 93.3 FM in Philadelphia, offering him a radio job. It was the beginning of his career, and he went on to do wonders with his time at WMMR 93.3 FM, working there for more than 40 years across several shifts. In 2024, Pierre Robert reportedly renewed his contract with WMMR to work there for a few more years. However, his sudden passing has left his admirers heartbroken. Pierre was a famous personality and the voice of Philadelphia's rock community. While he kept his personal life hush-hush, a report by ET suggested that during the time of his passing, he had a net worth of USD 25 million.

Lucy was loved dearly by Pierre, so much so that he even named one of his boats after his furbaby. Apart from a boat, he also owned a Volkswagen van in the 1970s, which he named 'Minerva', which was as famous as he was.
