Telugu star, Pawan Kalyan's comeback film, Hari Hara Veer Mallu: Part 1. While his huge fan base is celebrating the return of their favourite action hero to the silver screen. The film failed to hit the mark. It is worth mentioning that it was believed that Pawan Kalyan's film would rescue Tollywood box office, which was going through a dull phase since the beginning of 2025. But it seems like the film left the fans extremely disappointed.
In the period drama, which is a mix of fact and fiction lost it's storyline and felt it was stretched. Pawan Kalyan, who plays 'Veera Mallu', a rebel, who would steal from the rich to help the poor. The film took the liberty to build a fiction story to impress the public. The film revolves around Pawan's character and his desire to protect Dharma. Pawan's character might look like a 'Robin Hood' in the film, but his character soon turns into a magical tamer of tigers and wolves, conservator of wildlife and even has the power to control weather.
While fans could have accepted the twisted character with so many power, but the film's storyline and VFX were a massive letdown. Fans on social media expressed their opinion on the film. One user wrote, "Babai giving warning to Aurangazeb. Truly a comedy scene."
Another one commented, "#HariHaraVeeramallu turns out to be a disappointing film, mainly due to a poorly written and executed second half that completely fails after a strong and promising first half. The way the second half diverges from the tone and direction of the first makes the first half pointless, Whoever made that decision is primarily responsible for the result and deserves the blame. Apart from Keeravani’s outstanding background score and Pawan Kalyan’s interesting portrayal of Veeramallu, everything else falls flat and fails to leave an impact. And CG, the less said the better calling it disastrous would be an understatement. Makers have clearly took the audience for granted, relying solely on star power to carry the film."
'Veera Mallu', played by Pawan Kalyan, is a 'Robin Hood' type of man who lies and steals jewels from greedy and redistributed it to the needy. But he also the saviour of Dharma, and someone who knows that the country is in dance in Mughal rule, due to Aurganzeb played by Bobby Deol. The films shows his quest to retrieve the Koh-i-Noor from the Qutub Shahi Dynasty in Golconda soon turned into 'Veera's journey to know his purpose. However, the strange plot is what left fans confused and displeased.

It is worth mentioning that buzz have been rife that Pawan Kalyan took hefty money for the film. According to reports he took between Rs. 11 crore to Rs. 20 crore. it it sowrht mentioing that Pawan took Rs. 50 crore for his last film, Bro. Talking about his pay cheque at a promotional event, Pawan said:
"My remuneration for this…(laughs). I don't know; I'll consider it if it becomes a hit tomorrow. My idea is that the film should be released first and do well to safeguard the producer."
