And now, the actor has added another star to his list of achievements as he bagged the Best Supporting Actor Award for his amazing performance in the film, Mimi at the 69th National Awards.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Pankaj Tripathi opened up about his recent success in his career as he won the Best Supporting Actor Award for his film, Mimi. Talking about the same, the actor mentioned that his feelings are quite mixed as he recently lost his father. Pankaj also stated that his father used to feel proud and happy for him. Mentioning how his principles and values helped him excel in his career as an actor, Pankaj said:

"The feeling is very mixed. I suffered a huge personal loss in life, my father passed away. He used to be very happy while looking at my journey. His values, ethics, and principles helped me shape up as an actor and an individual."

Further, in the same conversation, Pankaj mentioned that he can feel his father's presence around him even though he has left for his heavenly abode. Talking about the same, the Mimi actor stated that his father would have been really happy if he had been there. In his words:

"Though he is not here physically, but I can feel him around me and his presence. Today, he would have been really happy. Whatever I have today is all because of his blessings."

When Pankaj Tripathi lost his father

For the unversed, it was on August 21, 2023, when Pankaj Tripathi lost his father, Pandit Banaras Tiwari. The actor's father was 99 when he left for the heavenly abode, leaving his family behind. For those who don't know, his father spent his entire life in their village, Gopalganj, Bihar. Pankaj Tripathi's family confirmed the news of his father's demise by sharing an official statement, which could be read as:

"It's with a heavy heart to confirm that Pankaj Tripathi’s father, Pandit Banaras Tiwari is no more. He lived a wholesome life of 99 years. His last rites will be performed today amongst his close family. Pankaj Tripathi is currently on his way to his village in Gopalganj."

When Pankaj revealed his father wanted him to be a doctor

Earlier, in an interview with the Hindustan Times, Pankaj opened up about his father and revealed that he wanted him to be a doctor. Talking about the same, the actor mentioned that his father supported his dream of becoming an actor. Pankaj also added that his father's only concern regarding his acting career was whether he would be able to earn his rozi-roti.
