Pankaj Kapur was last seen in the series, IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack, which was the talk of the town due to both positive reviews and certain criticism. The actor will next play the role of a grandfather in his upcoming project, Binny And Family. In a recent interview, he discussed the film’s plot and shared details of his relationship with his grandchildren, Misha Kapoor and Zain Kapoor.
Shahid's father, Pankaj Kapur shares an adorable bond with his grandkids. In an interview with News18 Showsha, the actor mentioned that Zain and Misha call him baba and recalled an incident revolving around the former, who turned 6 years old on September 5, 2024. He said:

“I think I spoil my grandchildren rotten. They call me baba. This one time, my grandson’s cousin was accompanying him to my house, and she asked him what she should call me. This little thing of mine, my grandson, told her to call me a ‘no-rule man’.”
Pankaj Kapur revealed that he does not impose any restriction to Zain and Misha at his home. However, he ensures that he also corrects his grandkids if they do something wrong. He said:
“The reason behind this is that I’ve always told my grandchildren that when they come to baba’s house, there are no rules for them, and they can do whatever they want. This is their thrill. Every time they’re in their baba’s house, they don’t need to ask me if they want to do something.”
The Shaandaar actor further connected his role as a grandfather in real life to his role as an on-screen grandparent in his upcoming film, Binny and Family. Pankaj Kapur said that the film talks about communication differences between the young and the old generations. However, he believes learning and understanding the Gen-Z can solve all differences. The Jersey actor further added in his interview that parents and grandparents should focus on the good qualities of the youth and learn from them, no matter the age.
Pankaj Kapur was recently seen in Vijay Varma starrer, IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack. Before this, the actor has also worked in the movie, Lost, that also featured Yami Gautam. His upcoming film, Binny and Family, where he plays the role of a grandfather, emphasises the importance of family bonds and communication. Directed by Sanjay Tripathy, the film features Pankaj Kapur and Rajesh Kumar, and marks the debut of Varun Dhawan's niece, Anjini Dhawan. It is set for a release in theaters on September 20, 2024.
