The wedding, scheduled for November 23, 2025, was postponed at the last minute when Smriti’s father fell ill and was rushed to a nearby hospital. Since then, there were rumours about Palaash’s cheating. Finally, Smriti shut all the noise by announcing that her wedding with Palaash has been called off.

Soon after Smriti Mandhana called off her wedding with Palaash Muchhal, he released an official statement confirming the same and also opened up about the cheating allegations. Revealing how he has moved on, Palaash penned:

“I have decided to move on in my life and step back from my personal relationship. Its been very difficult for me to see people react so easily on baseless rumours about something which has been most sacred to me. Its the most difficult phase of my life and I will deal with it gracefully holding on to my beliefs."

Smriti Mandhana and Palaash Muchhal were in a five-year-long relationship. The two decided to get married in 2025, and the wedding was originally scheduled for November 23, 2025. However, on the day of the wedding, reports claimed that the wedding was postponed due to Smriti's father, who had suffered a medical emergency. A day later, it was reported that Palaash was hospitalised due to wedding-related stress.

Amid the fiasco, several screenshots went viral, showing a private interaction between Mary D'Costa and Palaash. In the screenshots, Palaash was seen having flirtatious conversations with Mary. Soon, Palaash’s mom reacted to the rumours and revealed how the sudden turn of events affected him. She also claimed that Palash cried continuously for hours, leading to a sudden health trouble. He was admitted to a hospital in Sangli for about four hours, where he received an IV drip and underwent an ECG and other tests. She also stressed that both Smriti and Palash were utterly distressed by the chain of unexpected events that halted their wedding.
