Palaash's Cousin Defends Him Amid Cheating Accusations, 'Should Not Judge Without Knowing The Truth'

Indian cricket star, Smriti Mandhana, postponed her wedding with her fiancé, Palaash Muchhal, after her father fell sick on the day of their wedding. Later, it was reported that her Palaash too was hospitalised. Amid the wedding being postponed, there were multiple speculations about Palaash cheating on Smriti. And now, his cousin has reacted to the allegations.

Palaash Muchhal’s cousin defends him amid cheating allegations

Amid Palaash and Smriti’s fiasco, his cousin, Neeti Tak, has issued a statement urging people not to believe in the rumours and stop making assumptions. Taking to her IG stories, Palaash’s cousin revealed that he is in a critical condition and penned:

“Palaash is going through a critical condition today. You all should not judge Palaash as wrong without knowing the truth. Technology today has advanced much beyond humans, which is why people should not judge Palaash based on rumours. Pray for him."

Palaash Muchhal was accused of cheating Smriti Mandhana

Smriti Mandhana’s wedding functions came to a halt on September 23, 2025, after her father showed heart attack-like symptoms as he had pain on the left side of his chest. The family members immediately rushed him to the nearby hospital. After Smriti’s father was hospitalised, it was claimed that Palaash had cheated on Smriti. A girl named Mary D'Costa shared screenshots of flirty messages that she allegedly received from Palaash Muchhal.

Palaash Muchhal’s mother gave an update on his and Smriti Mandhana’s wedding

Smriti Mandhana’s father got discharged from the hospital, but there was no update on the wedding date, which made people believe that Palaash’s cheating rumours were indeed true. However, his mother gave an update on the same and revealed that Palaash’s health had deteriorated, looking at Smriti’s father.

She also claimed that Palash cried continuously for hours, leading to a sudden health trouble. He was admitted to a hospital in Sangli for about four hours, where he received an IV drip and underwent an ECG and other tests. She also stressed that both Smriti and Palash were utterly distressed by the chain of unexpected events that halted their wedding. Revealing that the wedding will take place soon, she said:

"Smriti and Palash dono takleef mein hain… Palash dreamt of coming home with his bride. I had even planned a special welcome...Everything will be fine, shaadi bohot jaldi hogi."

Smriti Mandhana deletes engagement video amid cheating speculation

Following the wedding's postponement, Smriti Mandhana removed her engagement announcement video from Instagram. The viral dance reel featured teammates Jemimah Rodrigues, Shreyanka Patil, Radha Yadav, and Arundhati Reddy had also been removed. It is now being alleged that Smriti's teammates have also removed the reel from their respective Instagram profiles. Removal of the engagement video has further fuelled speculation.
