Pahalgam attack victim, Samir Guha's trip to Kashmir cost him his life in the recent terror attack. His 17-year-old daughter, Subhangi Guha, saw her father taking his last breath right in front of her eyes at Baisaran Valley, Pahalgam, Kashmir.
The deadliest terrorist attack took place on April 22, 2025. She, along with the other family members of the victims, is still grieving. However, it was on April 30, 2025, when Subhangi got another reason to live her life to the fullest as the teenager scored a whooping 87% in the ISC board examination.
According to a recent report by The Times of India, Subhangi got an impressive score of 87% in her ISC examination. She hails from Sakherbazar in Kolkata and has achieved this feat amid the tragic loss of her dad, Samir, in the terror attack.
Subhangi, who has been in the arts stream, also known as the Humanities branch, has a new purpose in life to deal with her grief. Subhangi, who is mending her broken pieces, has mustered the courage and will pursue an honours degree in Psychology from Loreto College, Kolkata.
Subhangi's mother, Sabari, who is coming to terms with the shock of Samir's demise, revealed her daughter had high hopes of getting 90%. It was her percentage in Psychology and Political Science that had a little effect on her overall score. Subhangi, who studied Arts, is now determined not to be affected by her exam score. She wants to focus on the bigger goals of her life, and her mom told the publication:
"Right now, her focus is on her studies. She believes that concentrating on her higher education will help her realise her dreams. For the time being, she intends to dedicate all her efforts to this goal. We hope the administration will assist her in achieving her aspirations."
Subhangi's relative also added that the results were somewhat disappointing for her as she had set higher expectations. Nonetheless, what matters now is looking forward, and she has already initiated that journey.

Reportedly, when Subhangi's results were declared, her neighbours and nearby people came to Guha's residence located in Sakherbazar and showed their unwavering strength and support. A local club president, Shankar Roy, also told the publication that Subhangi was brilliant in academics. Everyone would pool in money so that her dreams could be fulfilled.
Subhangi's mom, Sabari, a widow now, made an earnest request to all not to spread misleading information related to her family, who is coping with the loss of Samir. She revealed to the publication that some media and some news outlets have falsely reported that they received a death claim settlement of Rs 1.7 crore. This is entirely untrue. She said that an officer came to their home, but he only took photos, and that too without their permission. They did not receive any cheque.
Subhangi and Sabari had earlier spoken to the NIA officers related to the Pahalgam case. Sabari remembered the chilling encounter when a group of masked men with weapons came around them. They told everyone to lie on the floor, and then the attackers randomly shot her husband and a few others.
Team BollywoodShaadis offers prayers to the family of Samir Guha and sends best wishes to Subhangi.
